So tomorrow is the day i'm expecting the call about at job at a tire shop. AND I CANNOT FUCKING SLEEP. I am actually paniking right now.
>What if I crash the car while parking it.
>What if I can't find the drain plug in <10 seconds
>What if I fuck up a tire on the machine
FUCKFUCKFUCK
>>16749894
>Implying you won't be sweeping and mopping all day.
Remember, 2 seals on the oil filter provides double the sealing quality, just leave the old on on the block/filter housing. And use a rattle gun to torque down wheel nuts, don't want them to come loose while driving.
To do any of those things you have to actually show up and work, which would make you overqualified to be a tire guy
>>16749894
You wont wreck anything because you're conscious of it and worried about it.
You'll find the drain plug because they're easy to find. Even if it's not right away nobody's going to shit on your dick about it.
Tires are tough, they can take more than you'd expect. Even if you wreck a tire training is part of the cost of running a business. It's expected.
It's gonna be great dude. I start a job as a parts and sales rep at a local power sports dealership on Monday and I have some worries about stuff too, but I'm sure it'll be fine.
Here's to a new gig dude, hopefully it's good to you.
Parents got me a used 2000 BMW Z3 convertible as a graduation gift. Got 130,000 miles and cost them $5,300. What does /o/ think?
manual or auto
>>16749724
Is this the one with the shitty engine?
Not much of a sports car but i suppose it'd be a comfy cruiser, the looks leave a lot to be desired but hey that's subjective.
>>16749748
Nah anon that's pretty accurate. Literally the ugliest bmw series I've ever witnessed.
It's not an attractive roadster.
I'm the fag that has the 2012 nissan versa ranting about a mustang

Get a Malibu, or a Buick of your choice (there is some really nice ones in manual too). Saturn's, or Focus
I bought a car recently and I have an inquiry. Where does the water that the windshield wipers spray come from? Does it need to be replaced or is it self-replenishing?
>>16748705

Ok /o/, help me decide what i should spend my hard earned paycheck on.
I want to buy myself a new toy, but am having trouble on deciding what i should do. Do i buy a classic car and drive it while i (possibly) fix it/enjoy what it is, or should i buy a motorcycle?
Im looking at spending 3.5k, which can get me a good quality bike, or can get me a road worthy classic that may not be all that pretty.
>i already have a reliable dd, so this is just for fun
>i have full access to an auto shop with car lifts for free, along with Mechanics (got to love the military)
>live in an apartment complex, but can have extra vehicles.
>in Alabama, so dont have any extremes to worry about other than heat
>work is less than 3 miles away.
>mechanically inclined
>experienced rider
>may be wising up to the idea that im not invincible
So with that info, do you think i should buy
A: Motorcycle; good quality and dont have to put any work in it, though my riding is limited by weather and the fact that i could die much easier
B: buy an old car that may have rust and shit looks, and the temptation to upgrade things ($$$), but be safer and have that all american classic.
And FYI, im talking like a 1000cc+ cruiser or a pre 1972 classic/muscle car.
>>16748355
You'll be throwing more into the car over the long term.
And a classic car being safer than a motorcycle is debatable.
>>16748355
Are there any good mountains for riding in Alabama? You should get a dirt bike, much more satisfying than a street bike in my opinion. If no good riding areas, get an old muscle car and hoon the shit out of it
>>16748395
That was one of my concerns, but since i moved, i seem to be surrounded by cars that i love. So if i get one of those, i may be ok with doing it if i plan on keeping it.
>>16748411
No trails that i know of near me
How snowflake is your car taste, /o/?

After 800 grit, the yellow completely gone. But frosted over. This is the OH I FUCKED IT UP, WHAT HAVE I DONE PHASE. I was freaking out.

Thoughts on the Saab 9-2X Aero?
>>16747788
It's literally a Subaru Impreza. Except they crossed out "Impreza" and wrote "Saab" in in crayon.
>>16747788
Never been in one, but I imagine it's a little nicer inside
>>16747788
It's a WRX without any of the downsides of owning a WRX. They're kinda hard to find in stick though.

Hey /o/, how does the typical private party sale go down?
Does the seller wait for you to get plates or do you drive away without them? Do you meet at the DMV parking lot, or is that illegal? What about street parking while the car is plateless and you are at the DMV?
How about buying from another state, I've seen temporary tags for non residents, in NY for example, are they worth it or is it better to just go back to your own DMV and drive back to get the car when the plates are ready?
What if they want to meet in public and just be done with the whole thing after they get the cash and hand over the title and remove the plates. Do you just have a friend wait there with the car or do you drive it plateless? I hear putting plates from another vehicle on the car is illegal.
I bought a car from a friend once and that was easy since the car just sat on the street next to his house while I was getting plates. Kind of nervous about buying from a stranger, I just want to be prepared and know the best practice.
In florida you can buy a temp tag for just this purpose, costs like $10.
Also no wait on plates since florida dmv's keep them in stock at the title office.
>>16747276
Yeah same in Jersey, they have plates ready to go at the counter.
How do you buy or sell a car? Do you meet the other party at the DMV?
In Minnesota the plates stay with the car when its private party sales
What's the deal? A guy gave me a ride in his brand new F-150 4x4 Sport and I was less than impressed.
Nothing about it screamed "expensive luxury truck that's also cool"
Kind of a sucker buy it seems.
Do you hate America, pal?
>>16746751
I'm Canadian and the Ford F-150 is by far the most popular truck. I'm just curious about this new thing...
Note: I'm only talking about the Sport edition. The F-150 is legendary.
Will this be the McLaren F1 of our time? So utterly dominant that it isn't topped for over a decade?
>>16746658
i doubt theyll actually make it.
>>16746658
at best it will represent the next step in supercar performance. maybe not mclaren f1-tier but the same kind of impact that the veyron had when it was new
it represents the beginning of an age pseudo-road cars that exist only to generate hype and instagram likes
You have to give your DD to one of these two for the day. Which one would you give it to?
>>16746202
I'll give it to the third one instead
