Do you guys just leave your winter mats on all year long? What's the advantage of taking them off for the summer? Comfiness?

I dont have winter mats

all year, its not like you can feel the difference, and they dont look too bad.
Hey /o/,
Just recently picked up a 95 240sx, and so far have run into a bit of a problem. Initially, the clutch wouldn't engage at all, and was stuck in the up position no matter how much force i used (its an exedy stage 3). I drained the fluid and saw barely any fluid come out, and I also removed the slave cylinder to examine. When i pulled the slave cylinder out, the clutch fork popped forward, as if the clutch had been engaged the whole time. Now I can"t move the clutch fork hardly at all with my hands, so I'm wondering if the clutch/flywheel/pp was put on incorrectly or if this is normal and I just need to put in the correct amount of clutch fluid and properly bleed the system?
tl;dr should the clutch fork on a stage 3 clutch be movable by hand?
pic barely related
>>16755450
If you move the clutch fork, does the gear stick move? Or likewise if you move the fork does the clutch pedal respond?
The fork should ideally be still and hold itself in place because if your in gear the clutch is not engages and the clutch should just sit there until you engage it again
Is your clutch by wire or by a hydraulic pump?
>>16755468
It was only me out there so I couldn't tell you if anything moved. It is a hydraulic clutch as well.
I had thought i could apply enough force with my hands to move it even a little bit, but it didnt budge nearly at all.
Helpless self bump
Can someone redpill me on the way car salesmen get commissions?
I'm trying to get the price down substantially on a leftover 2016 car, and wondering how much a particular manager/salesman's competition factors into the negotiation. Is hinting at buying on their day off enough to get them to budge more?

essentially, the salesPERSON gets an amount (usually 10 to 15%) commission. That 10-15% is not of the final sale price, but of whatever profit is made off the car. In all honestly, there's little to no profit made on new car sales.
For example. Say you buy a car from a dealership for $23,000. Let's say the car cost the dealership $20,000 to get. That means the dealer made $3,000 profit. Say the commission for salespeople there is 10%. The salesman only makes $300 off that sale.
Keep in mind, the average profit a dealer sees is generally around $1,000 or less per vehicle.
This is before taking into account the confusing world of bonuses and incentives.
I want to surprise my GF with a brand new car for her birthday but I don't know which one to get her and I don't want to spoil the surprise for her by asking her. Can you give me some suggestions, anonymous?

Would /o/ buy this design for $9? (Same design on back)

We know they're nig tier, there is no shortage of people trying to use them as a status symbol which they are not, they are Nissan parts sourced and built.
But are they shit tier? At their worst the G35 is a 260 hp RWD automatic car riding on a decent albeit not terrific chassis.
At their best it's a 6 speed RWD sub 300 HP car and when equipped with either the Brembo or Infiniti performance brake package they were a true 3 series fighter (excluding M3)
Time has shown that they are not perfect in terms of reliability although in any trim or engine (VQ35DE/ DE-Rev up vs VQ35HR) and an owner with good maintenance habits they last a long time and are DIY friendly.
With these cars seeing a dramatic price drop in the last few years I see them as an affordable DD that isn't completely vanilla or boring if you can justify the fuel consumption. After all it's more or less a 4 door 350z.
What's your opinion /o/

Avoid at all costs

I've owned my 06 rev-up coupe for over 5 years now. Burns a little bit of oil (~1L between oil changes) and the CD tray took a dump. Other than its been regular maintience items.
Trans is really clunky into 2nd and 3rd when car is cold and ambient temperature is near or below 0F.

Hey let me run something past you guys. I want to trade my truck to get back into a sports car. It's a Lifted, Black 2001 Dodge Ram on 33's. 170k miles, 5 speed 5.2L with headers and a flowmaster
Im considering this guy's wrecked 2003 350z. 140k 6spd with front end damage. Clean title and he has all the panels color matched and ready to install. All I would need to buy myself is a passenger door (and paint it) and a control arm (afaik) what do you guys think?
>>16754373
Goddamn iPhones. Here's the Z, the wheel was not damaged but the tire was and he's replaced that
Bump, damnit /o/ I need autists to see the potential here
trading a half ton for a sports car is a pretty radical change
you should seriously think about all the times you have or havent hauled anything or had furniture in the box, because youre losing alot of convenience when you get rid of a truck for a small car
Anyone ever miss shift from 5th to 2nd?
of fucking course not.

>Drive to the local autoparts store to get my BMW some windshield washer fluid
>Pop the hood and start filling the reservoir
>Some random dudes pass by
>Start yelling at me
>"Oh look, another broken down BMW, who would've thought of that?"
>"Should've bought a Toyota instead, less headaches for you and less strain on your parents purse"
>Keep on doing my thing and leave, feeling like shit
Another day
>Decide it would be a good idea to replace my spark plugs
>Drive to the autoparts store
>Heard these BMWs are quite finicky about spark plugs
>Pop the hood open
>Start removing a spark plug to take up to the counter for reference to get one that 100% surely would work without problems
>Random dudes walking by
>"Another broken BMW, should've bought an American and save yourself from the trouble"
>They start laughing and continue onwards
>Feel like shit again
Yet another day
>Time for oil service
>The 8 litres I bought fell a bit short of reaching my preferred spot on the dipstick
>Drive to the local autoparts store
>Buy a small tube of the same oil
>Start topping her off on the parking lot
>Some random dude walks next to my car and starts going off
>"Burning oil are we? These BMWs are all quite notorious for doing that."
>Reply with a "I'm just topping her off, burning nothing except gas over here"
>"Yeah, that's what they all say to save face, you should just ditch this shit before problems start mounting up"
>He leaves, chuckling like an asshole
What the fuck is wrong with people? I thought I was supposed to be the asshole, yet all I get are crude and snide remarks towards my car for just existing. Why can't they just let me enjoy my little bimmer?
Am I bound to get shit from every direction for just owning a BMW?
Coulda had a corolla.
Far superior car anyway.
>>16752589
I did not want a Corolla though as I want to work on my car from time to time.
That and the aesthetics of this car whisper sweet things to my dick.
None of these stories actually happened, but in general people are jealous. BMW is synonymous with "really nice cars" for normies.
Spend 5 minutes browsing the catalog and you'll see a lifetime of BMW jealousy.
>had N54 335i for 3 years, no HPFP, turbo or injector issues
What do you guys think of the 4 cylinder sub compact Chargers? Can buy this '86 for $600 (everything there, runs & drives w no real issues, stick shift, southern car w no rust).
Would there be any redeeming qualities to owning this turd?
Hell its a $600 car. If you need one, i guess get it. But that thing shouldn't share the charger name..
>running $600 car
Buy it regardless.
