So when I bought my car there was a single solitary mud stain on the passenger floor mat, that traveled up behind the center of the dash. Fast forward a few weeks and I start encountering electrical issues. Pull out my ecu and this is what it looks like; same mud. I cracked it open and didn't find any evidence of water damage, but is it safe to say this needs to be replaced?
A new ecu is almost $400
Side note, there's no evidence of flood damage anywhere on the car.

No, because this happened months ago. Didn't think to take a look at the ecu itself until now.

Try to find one from a junkyard. Should cost you $50 tops. No guarantees that it'll work though, but it's worth a shot.
