Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 Remaster Blu-ray Box
In the 1014th year of the Regild Century, humanity has seemingly prospered after previous centuries of war. This is due to the ability to harvest power through the use of photon batteries, and an orbital elevator known as the Capital Tower, which has become something of a religious icon for the new age. However, various threats to the Capital Tower have necessitated the creation of an academy meant to teach promising students how to defend and repair it, named the Capital Guard Academy.
Gundam G no Reconguista begins with Bellri Zenam, a student at the Capital Guard Academy, and his classmates undergoing a practical exercise in repairing the Umbilical Cable of the Central Tower. Unluckily for them, they get attacked by the mobile suit known as "G-Self," piloted by the female space pirate, Aida. Though Bellri and his classmates manage to capture her and the mobile suit, the Capital Guard Academy also comes under attack shortly afterwards, and they are quickly overwhelmed. Realizing that they need the power of the G-Self to defend their home, Bellri hops into the cockpit and heads into action himself in an attempt to defend his friends and home.

>Synopsis
It is Universal Century 0087, and the One Year War between the Earth Federation and Principality of Zeon is over. The Earth Federation has created an elite task force, known as the Titans, who are responsible for hunting the remaining Zeon forces. However, the power-hungry Titans have shown themselves to be no better than Zeon, spurring the creation of a rebellious faction called the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG).
17-year-old Kamille Bidan lives in the colony Green Noa, home to a Titan base. Kamille gets in trouble after assaulting a Titan officer, an event that coincides with an attack led by former Zeon ace Char Aznable, now known as AEUG pilot Quattro Bajeena. When Kamille steals a Titan's prototype Gundam, he soon finds himself in the middle of the dangerous conflict.

>great series
yeah
Nah not really.
Gunbuster Heroman is a cool robot, though.
>>14918006
It unfortunately squandered its potential by not using its big villain cast well enough (as well as the Nebula and Flare Engines). I enjoyed it, though, especially with how the protagonists forms a tight-knit group who look after one another.
What went wrong?
a cancelled second season and a cancelled movie, I guess
usual japanese shittaste
That they haven't made starting a thread with that sentence an automatic ban yet

They didn't make the bad guy look like Marlon Brando.
Is it me or is it really hard understanding who is working for who and what everyone's motivations are in this. And Laplace's Box and the whole "conspiracy" is also very vague and confusing as hell.
Why is this so popular and highly-acclaimed again?

>Why is this so popular and highly-acclaimed again?
Cool robots, great supporting cast, great soundtrack, deceptively simple plot (which means you're a legit dummy), great waifus, Char Clone with a surprisingly reasonable, albeit foolishly shortsighted endgame.
The year is Universal Century 0088. Directly after the end of the Gryps War, Haman Karn and her army of Zeon remnants on the asteroid Axis begin their quest of reviving the lost empire of the Zabi's, and proclaim themselves as the Neo-Zeon. With the Earth Federation as hapless as ever, only the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) is able oppose the plans of Neo-Zeon. In need of all the help it can get after being decimated in the previous war and losing many of its key members, the AEUG ship Argama enlists the aid of a young junk collector from the Side 1 colony of Shangri-La named Judau Ashta to pilot its newest mobile suit, the Double Zeta Gundam.

Some good stuff in here
Ueda: It's not so much that I'm amazed that twenty years have passed. Rather, looking back, I'm amazed we were able to make the series twenty years ago (laugh). I can't imagine it being done today. Not just in terms of the content, but the richness of the staff and cast... It really was a good age.
Chino: I've had a chance to be involved with several original anime series, but with Nadesico, the sheer depth and volume of the script was quite a lot. It was impressive that [director Satō] Tastuo was able to put all that together into a storyboard. That's not to say that's either a positive or a negative of the script, but it's hard to encounter another series with that kind of challenge. Even when I work on one, I often find myself feeling that there's something lacking. It was a feat that we managed to make the series and it's in no small part thanks to the writers and episode directors. Looking over the staff list now, it's become a Who's Who of people who've gone on to become big players.
Satō: Well, the first thing I think about is the relief that we got it made. If we were to make it today, I don't think I could say with confidence that I could get it done, much less someone else. It was very much that combination of elements and the period. It was also a cell-drawn anime on film. These days, with digital, it seems like we can do anything, and yet there are more things that we can't, so looking back, it feels like we got it done because we pushed ourselves so hard. I sweat just thinking about it.
Do you think Nadesico could be made today and still feel the same?
