If Luke has a lightsaber then he can beat a Scopedog even on his own I'd imagine since Scopedogs are pretty fragile. Giving him the Mk III is just over kill given that that's loaded with guns and missiles. Putting Amuro in an M9 or even the Arbalast seems more even, since it's big without being too big and has both offensive and defensive abilities that are pretty off beat in the magic thingy it uses, and that might stymy the Force, a lightsaber, repulsors and the full on flight the Mk III offers.

Amuro's way too out space wizarded here. His mech also doesn't have a Psychoframe, Bio-Sensor, or anything to boost his abilities to help him compete. Luke in a landslide.

It's the Chinese civil war but with mecha. Replace white bases Journey with the long march and you're set.

There's big robots and they fight.

It's a school romance sports comedy in space with mechas, there's one lagrange point between moon and earth in which are used to train young pilots, our hero goes to an all boy school and during practice his communication fails and goes to a nearby asteroid, there he meets with a female pilot from an all girl school, they help each other with repairs and return wondering if they will ever see each other again.

Back on the school space station he discovers the girl is the ex girlfriend of a guy in an upper grade, which keeps picking on the new students, senpai finds out and after a frustrated fistfight they challenge each other in a piloting competition. Our hot headed hero agrees on this and gets his ass handed to himself, the girl was watching with her radars from the distance the whole thing, boy gets mad and flies away with the mech to cry. The girl goes after him to search for him, when she finds him she cheers him up, they talk about their past and strengthen their relationship, he swears to become the best pilot in the world and goes back to the station. Just as expected, the dumb kid gets expelled for trying to steal the mech and he never sees the girl again, learning a valuable lesson for life and accepting his losses. End.

It'll stop being an intimidating, one off monster of the week and start getting destroyed in numbers by random schlubs without achieving much, if anything. They'll also probably scale back it's capabilities a lot to make mass production possible.

Once the Big Zam was mass produced, Zeon would be finished in no time. Because they would be bankrupt.

But seriously, how effective would a number of Big Zams have been? Let's say that at the time Amuro fights Dozle there were, like, five of these things completed and ready to be fielded. Would the Federation really have been finished?

Yeah, I got it on DVD a while ago and enjoyed the hell out of it. I think the plot kinda meandered by the end (why did Van get that dragon stone and then do nothing with it? I thought it'd be important), but the animation and mecha design were sooooooooo gooooood.

Also predicting the future is an OP ability, but also EW version a shit it's a pretty much nerfed version of the true Wing Zero which is the TV version.

Because Wing needed a way to incorporate all the flavors of Newtype without any of the fruity Newtype shit. Experiencing time in the chair still gave you Better Pilots/Better Persons (Heero), Better Pilots/Worse Persons (Milliardo/Zechs), or Axe-crazy Cybernewtypes (Quatre, Dorothy) and let you do it without 2-3 shows worth of background and bullshit.

Well, you're assuming it's easy to remove. It's a magical thingy that predicts the future, it's probably not a matter of just removing a few screws.
