Greco has better pacing, setting and story overall.

Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.

Waterslides, in my opinion. They're easier to apply.
I heard dry transfers have less visible borders, so they look more natural and realistic but they're harder to apply.

Cyborg =/= Android.
A cyborg is a human who has been augmented with machine parts. Even if all that is left of the human is the brain, it can still be called a cyborg. But to be called a cyborg, it has to have started out as a human.
An android is a machine that seems like a human. (Technically, a machine that seems like a MAN; a machine that seems like a woman is a "gynoid." Still, 'android' is used as the blanket term.)
"Artificial human" is literally the definition of "android."
Replicants, Synthoids, and Terminators are androids.
The Terminator movie REALLY fucked things up by calling a Terminator a cyborg. Because that is wrong. A machine with real skin grown to disguise it is still a machine; it was never a person, it is not a person enhanced with machine parts. Terminators are not cyborgs. Cyborgs are not androids.

Is char the closest mecha has to offer as an art? The avant garde styling of char's lies and machinations seems to be something that the social designers and psychologists of today seem to avoid entirely.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a case of it being something of a pinnacle in both Spacenoid art and Spacenoid story telling. The themes of post-humanism as well as strength through vanity seem so common and reoccurrent that I can't help but see it as a, not only a classic piece of mecha history, but as a piece of art to the world.
Why is it that NOTHING has come close to matching the quality of char's lies and story telling? Is the mediocrity of today's earthnoid characters because of their blatant lack of skill, or is char just among the greatest manipulators of the world?
