I have a chance to buy an old .455ish Belgian revolver with a shoulderstock, the problem is I while I know for a fact that the revolver is pre 1899 and the stock seems to be old but of a more recent manufacture given it seems to be made of laminated wood though the fittings might be genuine given the fact they are clearly older than the wood and thier patina matches the gun. The guy says that he got it from an estate sale of an old friend that died back in the eighties and I see little reason to doubt him.

I can't find a single marking or any at all beyond inspector and proof stamps that would help me find an catalog or something that would prove it came with one. I know what the ATF doesn't know can't get my dog shot, I'm just wondering where this stands in a legal sense. From what I can understand the ATF considers antiques not their business until someone makes it their business with modifications after the fact.
