They are mostly pointless after the invention of the submachinegun but fuck are they cool.

I have a chance to buy an old .455ish Belgian revolver with a shoulderstock, the problem is I while I know for a fact that the revolver is pre 1899 and the stock seems to be old but of a more recent manufacture given it seems to be made of laminated wood though the fittings might be genuine given the fact they are clearly older than the wood and thier patina matches the gun. The guy says that he got it from an estate sale of an old friend that died back in the eighties and I see little reason to doubt him.
I can't find a single marking or any at all beyond inspector and proof stamps that would help me find an catalog or something that would prove it came with one. I know what the ATF doesn't know can't get my dog shot, I'm just wondering where this stands in a legal sense. From what I can understand the ATF considers antiques not their business until someone makes it their business with modifications after the fact.

if you're worried you can ask them via letter and get a response in like a month or so time. would rather ask forgiveness than ask for permission but then again I don't have a dog.

The C96 is the tits
Got a BP revolver one, its a brass frame so I can't put a conversion cylinder on it
>>31212846
I want one.
>>31212846
What length barrel on the SBS? Why? I'm gonna go with 11" on my SXS but that's just where the handguard ends.
>>31212901
9.5". It would have been 13" if I went with the length of the hand guard so I just shortened it. OAL is 16.5 with pistol grip.
>>31212889
They're readily available on gun broker but quality and caliber will cost you.
>>31213158
Any reason for 9.5? I'm thinking 11 will be pretty nice, not too long, but still good velocity.
>>31213303
If you're gonna go short, then go as short as you practically can. I just chopped the hand guard a little bit past the mounting screw then rounded it out from there. From that, I just wanted the barrel to stick out another half inch.
I fucking love the Stechkin, but I'll probably never get one, let alone fire one.
>>31213158
I know. Waiting on a raise.
>>31213318
Ah alright, I'm gonna keep my length for aesthetic reasons. Lets be honest, that's the main purpose for this shotgun. Now if the ATF would just approve my form 1.
>>31213318
I do like the idea of having a separate stock if I want it. I'll have to make that happen.
>>31213420
If you were Euro you'd probably be able to smuggle one.
Don't know how to get it to the US later tho.

Fly to Cuba, float to Florida on a door
>>31213550
You won't get it through airport to Cuba though.
>>31213542
May be a dumb question, but how is that secured to the frame and/or muzzle?
>>31213617
I can see its screwed on the grips and probably it closes over, enveloping the frame
>>31213617
>>31213700
on the 1911 it works like grip panels
so it indexes the gun via the frame like all other conversion stocks
but via the grips, not a picatinny rail
there is a metal hook in front of the bushing which is connected to the charging handle for loading
>>31213365
>>31213542
One more reason for me to buy a 1911.
>>31213988
have the tactical version
>>31214017
>a bipod
y tho
>>31211721
ATF doesn't deal with antiques. You can find shoulder stocks for black powder revolvers online and it's all legal.
>>31214145
for fucking with people
no lol, i used it for trying out loads and what the pistol could do
i even had a cheap ass 10-40x scope on it, sadly no pic
it looked like shit, handled like shit and weighed a fuckton
but i found out that the "old" manufacture Remington UMC 230gr ball ammo (had a different projectile than the new) made 0,75" groups out of my R1 at 25m

This makes me rigid.
