Mateba for sale on gunbroker as of right now.
Seems to be mediocre condition, grips are broken and literally being held together with electrical tape.
I bid anyway. Feel free to outbid me, I'm probably not going to go over $2600 and I guarantee somebody wants it more than me, even with the broken grips, so I would rather an interested /k/ommando get it.
A link would help I suppose:

what fucking bastard put tape on it?
>>32731318
The grips are literally broken.
>>32731297
I want to buy this, my budget is $10k. Do you guys think I will get it?

>>32731300
are you regretting that $2,600 bid?
>>32731341
No, I only bid the minimum, $2399. I stated what my ceiling is ($2600). If somebody wants it more than I do, then I am going to be able to stop refreshing it for the next week.
Haven't got a gun yet, so don't know anything about pistols (tfw britbong)
What's stopping someone from buying this and then just getting a new grip?
>>32731402
Nobody makes a grip for it. There aren't that many in the US.
Might be able to find an Italian to import it; that's probably the best bet outside of a custom job which would be several hundred I would bet.
>>32731402
Nobody makes grips for these guns really. They'll be expensive if you do find them.
>>32731429
>>32731427
Shame. There's something about the design that I really like about the Mateba.
>>32731429
So you get a custom job, no biggie. If you have the cash for this, you got the cash for new grips.
>>32731532
Problem is finding someone to make them. Probably not impossible, but I'm not sure who out there makes actual CUSTOM handgun grips.
If I win it, that will be what I try, but I don't really know where I would search other than calling all my favorite wood grip makers to begin with (Ahrends and Badger) to ask if they know anybody that can do one offs. I don't even have drawings of dimensions, either.
Can we all have some fun and bid the gun into a billion dollar mark, seeing how unique and cool it is it deserves a unique price as well

>cracked grip
>Mateba in .44 Mag
there's your issue, Unicas chambered in calibers other than .357 are infamous for their grips failing. IIRC you can get reinforced grips that are better suited for the gun than the stock ones.
>>32732028
nigga I am not risking having to pay for a million-dollar meatball
Doesn't Chiappa make something like the mateba? Is it cheaper?
>>32731332
that's an easy fix if you have the slightest woodworking experience
since it's already broken, you might as well reinforce it too
>>32732170
you're thinking of the Rhino. It was designed by the same person that developed the Mateba revolvers (E. Ghisoni) so it inherits the 6-'o'-clock barrel position and some of the styling.
they usually sell for about $1000, which is less than half the price (sometimes less than a quarter of the price) of a Meatball.
>>32732209
Do know how much different the actions are in them?
>>32733356
they're completely different, the 6 Unica is an self-cocking autorevolver while the Rhino is a DA/SA revolver.
>>32731336
Just buy it now
>>32731336
>.50 BMG conversion
into the trash it goes
>>32731297
Honestly not worth it. Not being a faggot, hope someone outbids you and you can go for something better man.
>>32733543
>Honestly not worth it.
This. It's value would be as a collectable or a museum piece, but the busted grips negate that. $2,600 can buy a few other more serviceable toys.
>>32732140
Lol you won't have to pay for shit there is no fucking enforcement.
>>32731297
what is do if I had money
>>32731297
These meme guns hardly ever come up, but the price though.
>>32733543
Oh, I know full well it isn't worth it, but it's far from my most expensive gun and the one I truly want that has eluded me the longest.
The only reason I won't go higher is because if I don't set a limit I will go nuts with it, and I am factoring in grip production / repair costs if I were to win it. I don't foresee myself winning, but I will be happy if I do and not particularly bothered if I do not.
>>32731336
>Semi auto conversion
>>32733872
Hard to argue that. In that case get em lol.
>LITERALLY BROKEN
>lol gib four thousand
It's either I BuyNow! or cover my last couple of student loan payments.
>>32731427
>>32731429
why not just make your own? (provided you are a friend has some basic tools and woodworking skill)
>>32732209
I really really hate the way the holes get bigger. It just looks so so ugly
>>32732140
This!
The .44 Magnum and 454 Casull Unica was notorious for busting it's grips, my friend has a nickel .44 and by some miracle it came with a spare grip because the one it wears now has a hairline crack.
There is some shitbox of a guy who hoarded all the Mateba parts back when they folded who occasionally sells an aluminium and wood grip but he asks something heinous like 600 for it.
>Mateba with tape on it
That's like a Jaguar E-type with bondo. Fuck the last owner to death.
