Not sure if this is an /out/ question, but say if i were to go camping, and get into a bear or wolf(ves) encounter, would I be able to fight it off with say a 6 inch camp knife or a hatchet?

More luck banging pots and pans together than fighting a bear with a hatchet. Bear spray or some form of mace. Won't necessarily stop wolves though since reports have shown it doesn't seem to bother them as much.

I was a squad support gunner for the Empire. But I was given the RT-97c because of the shortage of DLT-19's. Can't really say too many good things about the RT-97c besides the fact that I could pick off Rebels from a distance.

My family inherited a (sadly deac) Martini Henry Carbine a while back. I has been stored in a shed for the last decade and so has developed a layer of rust. Any safe ways for me to clean her up?

the best way is a bit tedious and labor intensive.
1. get a towel / roll of paper towels
2. get some penetrating oil (like RemOil, CLP works okay as well)
3. apply a shitload of oil to the affected areas
4. use 100% COPPER (do not use steel) wool to scrub the area (you'll notice the oil turn brown)
5. wipe off the oil.
6. repeat until no more rust****(this can take anywhere from 5 mins to 3 hours depending on how much rust)
7. apply a light coat of oil / rub with oily rag --- when you remove the rust the metal is now exposed and you need to keep it oiled to prevent further rust
***if you are going to just store it long term, cover the metal bits in Vasoline -- works just as well as comsoline. but isnt as shitty to get off

oh and for the record
it has to be copper wool (100%, not just plated) so that it doesnt scratch the steel/finish.
back in the day gunsmiths all used 00 steel wool because the strands are like hair thick so you dont really see the scratches it makes, but 100% copper wool is around now and is waaaaay better for the task and it wont harm your guns.

Do you carry a non-lethal weapon with you for confrontations? I am very passive and someone approached my girlfriend at the bar and this situation followed

Obviously i'm not looking for somebody to blast with pepper spray or a firearm though. You could say I escalated and I'm really not a fighter at all, but I'm not going to be so passive that I let shit like that happen.

That's asking to get fucked in court. A fistfight in a bar will get you a slap on the wrists at best of the cops get involved. Using a weapon, even mace, makes it all really murky if the law is involved. A good philosophy for fights is to only pull weapons when your life is in danger, and then you kill the person endangering you. No non-vitial shots, no shooting to wound, you kill them.

I'm going for both a classic one-handed medieval sword, and a more recent 17th-18th century sword, would prefer swords to be affordable, quality, light-weight, sharp, and english in origin.
