Only bad thing about AA uppers are the weak ass extractor springs. I upgraded mine with the BCM extractors. It now devours steel case.

I do get the occasional light strike. Gotta get extra power springs to fix that. Maybe when I get a new trigger pack. Current trigger is mil-spec.

The light primer strikes were with Privi Partisan rounds. Brass cased.

The stock extractor had both, just that the spring was really fucking small. The BCM spring was bigger in every respect. From girth to length. (Just how I love it.)

Haven't shot my AR in a while. I did clean it pretty thoroughly last time I did though. I took it out for some daily fondling and noticed that the chamber had some brownish goldish residue on it. is this normal? or is it rust/corrosion? What would be the best way to clean this area of the gun?

IR lasers are capped at 0.7mW because they are dangerous past that. Your naked eye cant see IR so your pupils dont contract when lasered by one and you dont flinch away. It causes an intense pain and blindness.

Additionally you dont really need in the multi watt range due to the fact that you're viewing it over a night vision device which attenuates the area around 850nm wavelength range.

Dear /arg/

I have recently purchased a new Anderson lower in Tungsten (don't know if that makes a difference or not).

I started installing a CMMG lower parts kit but my magazine catch/release will not really fit even when I push it extremely hard. Should I get a very fine file to let out a bit more room for the magazine? I don't want to ruin it but clearly something is up. I bought an extra magazine catch set (I think Odinworks?) to see if it was the CMMG part but the second one doesn't fit either.

Only ran qd before because w no tapeswitch I had it on the left side of the rail and it slams on your knee w a best (single) point sling.
With a switch you can run it on the right and avoid the issue and have a slimmer profile

Yeah, the Arisaka is a much lower profile than the Larue and looks better imo. I love QD as well and have found a used Larue mount for cheap so I'm probably going to go that way. Plus I don't have nice rifle cases and being able to take off stuff for storage is very helpful.

The only issue with the Arisaka being so low profile is Surefire bodies wont clear the front sight in all positions.

Had to grind the front tab a bit to clear the 99051 if I wanted the lens forward of my brake ports.

The thing that phos does for you is provide a higher contrast by being white-ish and black-ish vs green and black-ish. For a clip on sight, its less super duper useful. For gottamovefast shooting, its a step up.

Also, you should totally get an adapter to put the sight on the lens of a DSLR and take some sweet pics at night.
