Is FMJ really the best option if one carries .380 or 9x18?
The only HP ammo I've seen in these cartridges with consistent expansion is Hornady, but the penetration does not meet the minimum standard.
>>33769764
>The only HP ammo I've seen in these cartridges with consistent expansion is Hornady
So buy hornady. The extra tissue destruction will still trump a slight failure to meet some arbitrary penetration depth.
>>33769764
i'm using FMJ for my carry 380
i'm more concerned about getting past several layers of clothes than expanding after hitting a t-shirt

I'm buying a used LH9 tomorrow, what should I know?
DUDE DONT
WAIT FOR THE MK2
>>33769732
I'm getting a pretty decent deal on it and the MK2 looks like it'll be expensive. Plus I don't like buying guns until they've been out a minimum of a year.

Are there any online sources for learning small unit tactics, grand strategy and similar military education?
>>33769440
how you fucking idiots are able to post at 4chan without knowing about INTERNET SEARCH ENGINES is beyond my understanding
try searching for...... wait........
small unit tactics
etc
Field manuals
Battle analysis
History (better to learn what worked than what some people think should work)
Yes. It's easy to find your local recruiters contact info.
/k/ redpill me on the Five seven. What are it's faults? What do you like about it? Is 5.7×28 a meme or is it good?
>>33768820
the grip is way too long and the texture of the grip is far too spikey. the round is cool but it isn't really magic bcus you can't get the proper AP ammo for it. I just like to look at em.
>was a fan until I held one
>>33768837
also, much too expensive for a sidearm
>>33768820
Its biggest faults are a very annoying fanbase- worse than the Glock crowd- and its exorbitant pricetag.
I hear it's actually a decent gun on its own terms.
Combat/Hiking boots thread. I need some recommendations from you guys on some good boots for rucking with a 100lb loadout. I want either a combat boot or hiking shoe. It needs to have a cushioned midsole. Right now I’m using these shitty USGI Belleville hot weather boots and they don’t really dissipate heat at all. I’d like to find something that is ventilated with nylon mesh like a running shoe that’s the biggest issue. I’m mostly doing this on the treadmill right now so they don’t have to be extremely durable. Another problem is my feet are very large, I usually wear a 13-14 XW. Regular EE wide widths won’t work they have to be EEEE extra wide. I’ve tried regular width before and had terrible problems with my feet for over a year. Almost thought I had permanent nerve damage in my feet but thankfully they recovered. Never going back to that again.
>>33768445
The new Oakley boots are pretty comfy but only lasted me about 6 months, their outer sole is soft and it sucks trying to manage the bullshit shale terrain in bumfukistan.
The nike boots are good as well but with a harder outsole that will take a toll on your feet after a while. They have a new jungle outsole offered as well.
My comfiest boots would have to be the "summer" garmont 8 inch boot for rucking. They don't breathe as well as the oakleys but they offer a lighter version of that as well that I haven't tried.
I've had some pairs of danners, but they didn't fit right for me.
>>33768489
Thanks for the info, ultimately after doing more research I may be limited to whatever I can find in my size because it's far from the bell curve.
>>33768445
>100lb loadout
But why? I've done it, but only when it was an absolute necessity. If you aren't carrying mandatory, unstoppable military gear, my first piece of advice is to cut that poundage. Carrying a ton of weight when you aren't required to isn't tough, it's dumb.
If the Second Amendment is an absolute, inalienable God-given right, does that mean I have a right to open carry on a plane?
>>33768243
If the company that owns the plane allows it. Private property, cunt.
>>33768243
Yes.
>on a plane?
yes. if you buy your own plane.
Holy shit, PSA basic bitch M4gery ARs are $360. Why aren't you buying one right now?

rear sight is optional

Hello /k/ommandos, a fa/tg/entlman here.
I was wondering I could have a thread of your board to ask something of you. I'm currently trying to make a race back on /tg/ that is sort of a mirror or parody of you guys.
Would you be willing to tell me some of the things that make /k/ommandos special?
/k/ specific memes and jokes. Some of your thread culture? pic related comes to mind if that's still relevant to you guys.
You're opinions of the Mosin Nagant would also helpful if only to help make this thread /k/ related and not pruned out of existence.

This... is surprisingly enlightening. Its given me the idea of having the /k/ube say that Guns/Firearms are good and have it be part of the cultural belief... or something. Might be nice and funny!
>>33766939
I'll probably make that a saying about survival training.
what is /k/s thoughts on a Lee Enfield as a first rifle?
also in Canada if that makes a difference

Gud guns, may be expensive to feed.
How many crates full of cheap AR kits are rotting in warehouses because of this bitch?
Better yet, what are the fucks on /k/ who bought 500 pmags doing?
>>33766175
>rotting in warehouses
you mean being snapped up on deal prices. I'm grateful trump won, but I'm glad she was his opponent. Gun prices are crazy low.
>>33766175
Sam at SGammo is taking a huge pinch.
Ammo fucking tanked after the election, and nobody is buying since trump wont autistically blame guns for shit.
So sam is having a hell of a time moving product, hence the borderline spam emaisl about ammo.
>>33766268
Would now be a good time to drop $2-3k on ammo?

>Both U.S. and Canadian forces mistook each other as the Japanese and, as a result of friendly fire, 28 Americans and 4 Canadians were killed, with wounded on either side.
Must have been their beady eyes, bobbly heads, and waking around saying "aboot" all of the time that caused the confusion.
