Sooo... a friend of mine showed my work to someone he met at a convention who is trying to pitch a cartoon show to a big cartoon channel like CN or Nick.

The guy contacted me saying he liked my work and asked if I'd be interested in doing the storyboarding.

He said if I'm interested we can setup a Skype call to fill in the details.

I'm interested but I'm not sure how to respond or what the proper etiquette is to do here because I'm a socially awkward potato.
Do I ask right off the bat how much they're willing to pay?

Do I set up a contract with them or should they be sending me a contract for hire? If I do create a contract, what details should that entail?

How do I into business?

Basically, what questions should I be asking and when is the right time to ask and do things?
>>
>Do I ask right off the bat how much they're willing to pay?

Yes.

"What's your budget?"

Thanks for the video, however I already know I would never draw for free. The question is not asking whether or not I should get paid, the question is more about the timing. Do I ask what their budget is right off the bat? Should I wait until we do a Skype call?

And if he does intend to pay me, do I made a contract/agreement? If I make a contract, should it be in written form or is verbal agreement enough?

If I make a contract, what details should it entail??

In a life drawing class, would it be inappropriate to ask the model for feedback on your work? I would imagine they have a pretty good idea of what a good rendering of them looks like.

sounds awkward

>I would imagine they have a pretty good idea of what a good rendering of them looks like.

Why would you think this?
>>
absolutely, i would also suggest simply laying in the general shape and then focus all remaining effort on various erogenous zones before asking them their opinion

Trying to find the name of an artist. One of his paintings depicted the people pulling down the statue of a dictator, only to pull up another statue of another dictator. Anyone familiar?

It is kind of a pop art experiment

It reminds me of a guy i knew in high school who had these projects that were basically "photoshop IRL" because he made scenes by gluing pictures from magazines to canvas and the put cat heads over characters. He had things like lord of the rings, but everyone had a cat head. He had other spoofs of famous paintings but again with cat heads. Things like this.

In short, it just lazy. like your thing here. It looks like you were trying to say something about how science fiction is just since now but the message , if there, isn't communicated clearly.

Look up the artist who did the album covers for The Dead Kennedy's it might inspire you.

>>2592432
Thanks, I tried harder.
The idea is that imagination can lead you to great places. Actually this is the first time that I finish a project. I feel good about it.

I think I will after at least 10 submissions. I like anime so I am a week. However I fell for the realism meme and my stylizing needs work. I'm not drawing that ugly bitch though.

No I want to see those who have never drawn weebshit before.

Does anyone know where to get the Anatomy Master Class videos? CGpeers doesn't have them. (If they aren't online, maybe someone is willing to start a group buy? I'll happily add in 5 or 10 bucks)

Why? It just looks traditional, very "mathematical" and refined

I would love to have a course that explains all of the bones technically and accurately, using formulas, not the simplified bullshit that most anatomy courses use.

It can look good or look shitty depending on the artist

I never go outside or ever make art, too busy asking for advice on /ic/

Its fun. Its like hunting for mezmarizing light effects and try to capture them on paper. Great if you want to get a sense of natural lighting too.

I think it's great if you live in a place with some nice sights, and the weather is good.

It's great for learning about colour theory and I think it really gets you to paint smarter because of natural time constraints.

I unfortunately can't do it too often where I live though, due to living very far north.

So I got up This morning and said to my self, time to start making comics.
So I got onto my deviantart account i(n which I don't use but just started to) and started to cook up some cancer.
Here is the deal, I suck at art and digital art, but in the span of 5 hours or more, I stared making these little comics (pic related) and in that span of time from this morning, I got 10 Llama badges already (for those familiar with the badge system. Obviously I found out deviantart is cancer, and you can post cancer to get some if any acclaim.

My question, is this normal for someone to do in this short of time?

If not then why don't artist on the great chan use dev art because if they are better than me and have work saved up, I don't see why they don't just go for the extra advantage in advertising.

>>
>>2593292
Most artists have devart.
>>
>>2593358
But most 4chan-ists say dev art sux because of people there and output. I just assumed they didn't use it cuz they didn't like it
>>
>>2593528
The people who say that are either b8ing or legitimately retarded. Everyone has a deviant art, ranging from the pros to absolute beginners. The community itself is a bit weak but there's no harm in having an account. It's up to you to decide when your art is at a level where you want to share it but the platform is perfectly fine.
