Have you successfully found job as a freelancer for a quick buck off your work yet? what's the fastest way you've gotten hired/commissioned for one? what are your personal experiences with the whole "making money with your art" thing?
Yes, I am absolutely going to take advantage of your responses, of course. And many others too, probably.

why final image doesn't look like having a brown skin? rather, purplish blue.
If I understood right, that creature has brown skin. because base color is brown.
is it because blue light is strong?
>>2598920
It's the power of layers, anon. You put all those layers in the respective modes and monster magic happens, in this case I guess the most important ones are the purple multiply layer and blue screen layer.
>>2598927
oh. I'm not familiar with multi layer so I overlooked it. thanks.

What do you guys think about my painting?
>>2597944
Reminds me of this ugly as fuck ink drawing on some cardboard my brother did to be outright bad looking.
He set it at the stairway for days and it would catch everyone's eye as soon as they hit it.
It infuriated my mom and sis that tried to be supportive and tolerate it until they had enough just to find out he sat it there to fuck with them.
I love it i would hang in on my wall.

Kek your brother is such a bastard.
What does /ic/ think of this book? Do you do the lessons with John K? Do you think this is one of the great books?

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

"I can't stand this beast wearing father's armor"
-Last word of the young prince

May i beg some advices fellas?
Get the title ?
i'm not sure i like my colors.
Crow look so weird.
>>2599670
Is the beast his dead father giving him the last hug or something? Dunno.
The crow looks weird because you drew its wings mirrored and on the front plane instead of on the sides. Look up an actual crow in that position.
There's something It's been bothering me.
Even while I am confident on drawing from imaginations, it still doesn't reach the level when I try to copy some photo reference.
is this normal?
does all the masterpieces in old master paintings were done using models and props?
like caravaggio paintings were done with camera oscura and all that shit?
It's pretty common, yes. It's natural for images produced with a real-life reference to look better than stuff produced without. That's why there is so much emphasis on studying references. As your skill increases, there could well be less of a gap, but all the old masters used life models.
Alex Ross uses live models for everything he does and he's constantly regarded as the best Marvel comic artist.
Stop giving a fuck about "pride"

>does all the masterpieces in old master paintings were done using models and props?
not always props, but many of them did use models. But they could draw convincingly without them in many cases.
I need a source of reference photos that isn't online, because the temptation to play games or watch videos is too tempting. Anything like that for figures that isn't gonna cost me an arm and a leg?

Well there's super pose books, or just take a few minutes out of your day to save pictures from figure drawing sits and then unplug your router. I've done this, used to be in the same boat as you, needing to unplug my router to not distract myself.

Doctor needed Keys to Drawing
Do you draw people in public?
Are there certain rules you should follow? Has anyone ever got offended at you for rdrawing them? Anyone appreciate it?
I want to draw on the bus because it lets me get better in that down time, but im worried of coming across as a weirdo.
>>2596635
youre gonna get thrown off the bus
Try to only draw the people occupied with a phone in the bus, they won't even notice
Other people will just search themselves a different seat, those fucking faggots
Don't ever show your sketchbook.
They'll flip through it.
You'll struggle to explain.
You'll remember it forever.
