Digital art gave me carpel tunnel, can I sue?
>>2711087
Different anon here, jokes aside how the fuck do you handle this?
I'm trying to transition from traditional where my hand is light as a feather to digital where I'm forced to use the tripod grip and press down continuously.
It seems the carpal tunnel is inevitable at some point in the future, especially if I draw hours a day.

I wanted to talk about artistic talent, ic.
Some people say it does not exist and its only hard work (Alla Prima's introduction comes to mind). I believe that this is a noble stance to take to avoid discouraging people. Noble, yet dishonest.
So I wanted to hear your thoughts on what talent is.
Personally I believe that ability to manipulate 3d objects purely in imagination is a genetically inherited trait, similar to limb length or mathematical ability. Everything else, color theory (not sure about color however), construction, design, composition etc can be learned, visual library can be expanded, so you can be a successful AND a skilled artist even if you lack the intuitive understanding of surrounding space that, for example, Kim Jung Gi exhibits (there are plenty of people who drew and studied theory as much as Kim and few who can draw like him).
What do you guys think?
The Spark.
>>2710889
Talking about talent and whether it exists or not is just a waste of time, go draw.

become an artist and find out
Hello, sorry if this isn't the right board for it but looks right.
I'm from /tg/ and very rarely do something concerning images but something just happened to one of my players character and now he is redheaded so i'm trying to make

Also i'm trying to draw his ear back into existance but i don't really know how.
>>2710865
kek, I think it looks perfect, just roll with it.
>>2710900
Well i made it only this far, i don't have any idea of how to continue it so i think i will have to roll with it. But i will stick up until 404 to see if someone has any tip, in any way thanks for the opnion anon.

Try painting a base layer of titanium white then transpartent gold ochre...
Oh wait this is degenerate digital art isn't it? Fuck off.
Wanted to talk about this for a long time.
Im drawing sinse 2007 and mainly working with games/animations so im not well known in "young memeing people of Tumblr" so i never do comissions because im unpopular.
But i get asked about sometimes, look at person's profile and say that im not available, if the profile looks too autistic.
How people deal with this?
Im SO very afraid if i get asked to draw some retarded shit (furries/weird OCs/autistic waifus or porn). I rarely seen comissions being interesting to draw.
Even the word "comission" to me sounds so unprofessional, so Deviantart level.
- Post weird stories about you doing a comission you HATED to do
- Post advices for people in my situation
PS:
Also part of my paranoija is a situation that happened with me back in 2011. I was comissioned to draw 6 characters for one guy.
I needed money because i was on my start and got payment upfront. (90$ for 6 full body/painting-coloring characters...yeah)
IT...WAS....FUCKING...HELL!!!
I cringe and shake every time i remember that year. The guy who comissioned me was so weird. So autistic with little details.
I was receiving over 9000000000000000 fixes and changes.
We actually im not kidding discussed the drawing of 1 ring on a retarded girl OC finger for almost a week.
It was a bunch of characters with tons of tiny details - necklaces, rings, marks.
I was frustrated tired and completely empty, i hated art and drawing so much, that at the end of that work i was just lying in bed and questioning if i ever want to be an artist.
It's one of reasons im afraid to take comissions - i think people in general from Tumblr or Deviantart can't have any interesting ideas i want to draw.
It will be either some autistic OC or anything like that.
1) i wont get that much of money from an unemployed person
2) neither i will like drawing the thing he/she wants from me
Use a pseudonym and stop caring what you draw, these people are morons, take their money
>>2709429
You charged low so you got a shittier client
You received lots of revisions because you never mentioned how many revisions were allowed and perhaps you and the client weren't on the same page and so weren't thinking of the same image in mind
You should only ever take on what you're capable of doing, burn out means 0 production meaning 0 money. Slow and steady wins the race
The entire online art world is amateur land, your best chance of finding a professional experience is with indie companies and they're pretty shit too
Get a day job
Draw what you enjoy in your free time
Alternatively, become very good, connect with people in the actual art industry and get a real art job

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun!

Remember the words of our good friend Feng Zhu: “"there is no secret to drawing. The more you do it, the better you'll get. It's all about mileage. A lot of people try to look for shortcuts, but there aren't any. Just bite the bullet and do the work. There is no easy path."

did you make this? God. Those are some really good cowtits. And I try to abstain from absurdly large breasts because I dont think its healthy. but wow. Just relapsed.
what do you tell yourself to keep believing that you'll "make it" or continue "making it" as a livelihood?
while taking a semester off from school to study art isn't by any means outrageous or risky future-career-wise, myself from half a year ago would never imagine doing something like this. it's kinda scary imagining taking complete responsibility for everything - failures included - for once.
>schmid is weeb trash

>>2710771
I have no fucking clue what you exactly mean. Seems like you totally fucked up and you don't even know it yet. Nobody with half a clue will want you for that half year you did some art. They will either think you aren't good enough (because you only did it for that much) or that you will jump ship soon (because you did it.)
Except maybe you are in art school right now. And you take a break to do art while you do art.
What is the age of the average /ic/ anon?

Damn man, did you study art when you were younger or is it something you just wanted to do now that youre older?
>>2709509
>yfw you realize 16 year olds are giving you advice on anything
I'm trying to improve my drawing skills. What do people think? I will be uploading more.
Read the sticky.
I know this can be improved to become a true piece of art.
I've only changed it a little since the first pic, but I'm looking for some semi-serious suggestions.
this is the only change I've made so far
