what's the trick to just drawing? it's so hard to pick up a pen and draw
The trick is to pick up a pen and draw even if it's hard. It'll get easier, but you have to do it every day.
>>3111109
find a need to, but that comes after the initial push
the trick is to push yourself in a direction that sparks the need
as in dont draw aimlessly. dont do photostudies if you dont fucking care. draw the anime babe, look at how fucking horrible she looks, and badda bing badda boom, anon obtained Motivation, motivation to make the girls cuter.
Could you guys check this out?
What are good points in this render?
And, more importantly, what are the bad ones?
3ds max + vray render

Caricature is one of the lowest forms of art. Right next to zen doodles and crossover fanart
When everything you want to express has already been done by artists who are more skilled and talanted than you'll ever be.
>>3109328
to test how good you can become?
the intent isn't always to create something original
because that'll be me soon. depressing other artists into quitting because they'll never be as good as me
>>3109340
NGMI-chan a cute!
How do you learn good design?
It's easy in comparison to learn how to draw and paint technically, but how does one acquire an appealing visual language and a good sense for design? Where do these philosophies come from top concept artists seem to share? Is it written down somewhere?
It's just such a mystery to me.
If you have access to those, the Brainstorm videos by John Park are a pretty good starting point. He talks a lot about things like
>shape language
>repetition
>silhouettes
etc.
Btw. those human feet bother the fuck out of me, why did the artist think thats going to work.

How to get good at design:
>Practice
>Draw a ton of shit
>Practice
>Practice some more by drawing a ton of shit
>Get a few happy accidents here and there
>Profit

Not the Aguri one. I saw it posted here a while ago, and my stupid ass forgot to save it.
I'm sorry that a thread died for this.
>>3108526
>Not the Aguri one
but the aguri guide is better
i don't want to open a new thread. does anyone have that image where it says the difference between drawing symbols and what is actually there?
>be average student
>average joe all my life
>fade into the background most anywhere, socially, academically, physically
>try to make it
>have to compete with the very tippity top thanks to the internet connecting the whole world
how is making it even possible for people like me? I've studied the sticky for years and I'm still shit
>>3108392
post work.
By not giving up.
>>3108392
what do you mean by making it, can you spend your life doing art? yes. can you get paid for it? yes.
if you need to be well regarded or famous or e-famous or have a bulging patreon then that probably won't happen.
Hey! I've recently done this shoot to get some plain, simple and naturall looking images.
There was no MUA, no stylist, just me and the photographer. Very little to no editing.
We ended the shoot with more sensual/erotic pictures, but anyway...
I'd like to select a few pictures for my portfolio, but I'd like to get some opinions from outside.
Here's a link to the gallery, there're around 60 pictures. Lingerie, implied nudity, nudes:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fadmc7ykva3kbrp/AADyYPjqnV3gtNA6pt5bgORHa?dl=0
I'd appreciate it if you could copy and paste names of the photos you liked the most.
That would help me immensly.
P.S. You'll see I have some self harm scars, I'm OK with them being visible. I know it doesn't look super nice and everything, but... life happens sometimes.
i cant be bothered to go there post them itt
I ain't clicking that. post em here.

not op but link is legit. If you're nervous just don't copy the ?dl=0 from the end.
What is this called and how much is this worth? Think it says "T. Sloyer"
Pt. 2
How do I suck a cock and paint a portrait at the same time?
>>3111077
paint a portrait of a cock, because your art sucks.
>>3111126
so you're pretending to be a mod? i cringed.
I tend to not follow artists with a shitload of followers and/or notes cause I know I'll feel alienated and spiteful if they don't notice me
you just have to understand that they are busy . artists really dont have a lot of time to interact with fans if they are good.
>>3110697
that is unless its their job to like say KJG who does fast drawings in a public setting.
ok cool. next thread.
Hey /ic/, sorry if this is dead horse of a question. But I am trying to figure out how I should be spending my drawing hours most efficiently. I feel like I have gotten past /beg/ level and studies are starting to feel a bit redundant, but more than anything, I have the pressure of life increasing on me, and it is still my dream to turn this hobby into a career.
How does one decide what is necessary in their portfolio for any job, and how does one even decide what job they want in the first place? If you knew right away that you wanted to be a concept artist or illustrator, I want to know why. I am having a hard time choosing.
again, my question comes from concerns with efficiency
pic sort of related.
>>3110283
I read through that thread. it depressed me massively
>how does one even decide what job they want in the first place?
This question makes no sense.
Thoughts on pic related?
>>3109912
i didn't expect to be in the 4th one. i feel good now
>>3109912
This meme doesn't work like that, dummy.
crits?
How the fuck do you make a living as an artist? Do you sell your paintings to a gallery or something? I love painting and would like to do it for a living one day but it seems almost impossible.
>>3109463
Galleries, conventions, commissions, patreon, etc; not sure if I'm leaving out something
>>3109463
did u make this pepe? I would like to buy it.
