Like you already said, he saw little action. He was involved with the disastrous siege of Moscow, which while it wasn't entirely his fault, it certainly harmed his reputation. He wasn't brought back in to the high command until 1943 onwards, which meant he missed out on any chance to lead the wermacht while they still were an effective fighting force. That being said, he was easily the best general hitler had left under his command in 1945, though there wasn't much left to work with at that point.

Well no shit Rommel was used for propaganda. I read from some book ages ago Hitler had three front propaganda campaign for Germans. In the south was Rommel, in the centre being the most important was Hitler himself and in the north was Dietl (who croaked early on).

Not only did Hitler promote Rommel as propaganda tool he was promoted by western allies since he was the only bloody German they fought before invasion of Italy (not counting the early war shit show up to '40.

If you'd ask a Social Justice warrior, they'd tell you that the most racist societies are white, because white people are privileged, and it's the superiority of privilege (systematic oppression) that defines the "racist society", therefore a black society that systematically kills white people couldn't possibly be racist because black people aren't privileged.

Modern social justice is based on progress as the standard for "privilege"; therefore based on that standard, the white man is privileged. (racist).

The opposite could be to be true of black people, if your brand of "privilege" is based on community, because black people are basically the most communitized group of people in America. Whites aren't allowed to have a communtiy; and based on that, this is why people protest affirmative action with "White student unions".

I would recommend the Tao Te Ching as a starting point. It's easy to read, not overwhelming, and a solid introduction to Eastern philosophy.
From there I'd go to the Bhagvad Gita and the Dhammapada.
China and India were the big hubs of spiritual thought in the East, so start with those.
Start with the indigenous traditions (Taoism and Hinduism) and then read about Buddhism and its melding with the local traditions.

8 out of the 14 names in the list of Communist leaders are Jewish. The rest are unspecified, so that number might be even higher.

This is, of course, not to say that all or even many Jews were Bolshevik revolutionaries, but a lot of the influential figures did happen to be Jewish. Perhaps this is because Communism favours egalitarianism, and the target of any revolution is the establishment, and Jews had been persecuted for centuries by the establishment of many European countries, so maybe they felt they finally had a shot at being treated decently if they overthrew the old order.

Also it's important to note that in Russia, Stalin did purge almost all the Jews from the Communist party (including high ranking ones like Trotsky), and the USSR treated Jews pretty harshly.
