If you'd ask a Social Justice warrior, they'd tell you that the most racist societies are white, because white people are privileged, and it's the superiority of privilege (systematic oppression) that defines the "racist society", therefore a black society that systematically kills white people couldn't possibly be racist because black people aren't privileged.

Modern social justice is based on progress as the standard for "privilege"; therefore based on that standard, the white man is privileged. (racist).

The opposite could be to be true of black people, if your brand of "privilege" is based on community, because black people are basically the most communitized group of people in America. Whites aren't allowed to have a communtiy; and based on that, this is why people protest affirmative action with "White student unions".

What a disappointing cringefest that was. I thought they were going to perform an actual experiment and make a comment on human psychology, but they fucked it up and just resorted to "hurr all white people are racist". That commentary panel was hilariously awful and it sickens me how little they were aware of their own bias.

Racism is a combination of discrimination and tribalism, both of which were useful traits for survival and propagation. But like so many human traits brought about by evolution, they've led to negative consequences in the modern era. It's not a "white" thing, it's a human thing.

I very much doubt Jane Elliott would dare to do this experiment in a non-white majority country. Maybe she has, I don't know much about her, but I doubt it.

I don't really understand the structure of this exercise. It's setup under the pretext of being a social experiment by dividing a sample of people into two groups based on a superficial physical trait and having the one group obviously unfairly favored in various ways. It might have produced some interesting data about how people respond to overt and arbitrary group favoritism, but then its entire design is fucked because this Jane Elliott woman so dictatorially guides the entire thing into a specifically desired result and flagrantly moralizes the experiment right in front of the entire sample. The white group is essentially bullied, at first seemingly for experimental purposes in order to gauge their reaction, but then bullied more harshly and openly for not conforming to the desired reaction on the part of the experimenter.

So my question is, if her sole purpose is simply to educate white people on the problem of racial discrimination from the perspective of minorities in majority white countries and teach them a moral lesson in that regard, then why is the exercise structured as anything but a lecture? It might as well be. Its experimental design is a total farce because all the exercise seeks to do is very antagonistically hammer a preconceived conclusion into the white group by breaking its own fourth wall from the very beginning with zero neutrality on the part Jane Elliott. The whole thing is completely silly and pretentious.

It was still an interesting experiment if you are aware of its flaws.

It says a lot about Jane Elliot, it also shows that the reaction of the victims might be part of the problem. If they just sat there unemotionally saying "nah that's bullshit" "I don't give a fuck" "you're obviously just trying to make me mad" I wonder what the outcome would be.
