Why not? The persian empire was composed of roughly the same territory and held together a fairly long time. Obviosuly civil wars and uprisings would have broken out like they did back under persian rule and under the diadochis but I see no reason why a united Hellenic empire, which doesn't have to spend its resources fighting amongst itself like the diadochis did would not manage to hold unto power for a couple of hundred years.

Let's talk about the generally unknown but worst of the worse Nazi war criminals of the Waffen-SS.
>Oskar Dirlewanger
> He enlisted in the Imperial German Army in 1913. He won the Iron Cross 2nd Class and 1st Class medals, having been wounded six times, and finished the war with the rank of Lieutenant. Dirlewanger, described in a police report as "a mentally unstable, violent fanatic and alcoholic, who had the habit of erupting into violence under the influence of drugs.
>He was also repeatedly convicted for illegal arms possession and embezzlement. In 1934, he was convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment for the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl from the League of German Girls (BDM), as well as the illegal use of a government vehicle and damaging said vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Dirlewanger also lost his job, his doctor title and all military honours, and was expelled from the NSDAP. Soon after his release from the prison in Ludwigsburg, Dirlewanger was arrested again on similar charges for criminal recidivism. He was sent to the Welzheim concentration camp, either as what Stein feels was standard practice for deviant sexual offenders in Germany at the time or for creating a disturbance demanding the reversal of his criminal charges appearing before the Reich Chancellery. Dirlewanger was released and reinstated. He later joined the Waffen-SS at the outbreak of WWII.

Nevertheless, in recognition of his work to crush the uprising and intimidate the population of the city, Dirlewanger received his final promotion, to the rank of SS-Oberführer, on 15 August 1944. In October, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, recommended for it by his superior officer in Warsaw, SS-Gruppenführer Heinz Reinefarth

I wish I was faithful, but I can't help thinking of religious rules and values as man-made things that a leader would want his nation, army, and citizens to adhere to, rather than them being divine commandments.
Practical advice, like it makes sense that Arab Muslims would be told to grow a beard, as I'm sure it would protect your face against the sun and sand, same with trimming your moustache, since it would get in the way with eating. Things like washing yourself before prayer also makes sense when you think about it in terms of keeping the population clean to help stop the spread of sickness and disease. And all of the guidelines to do with dealing with people outside of your faith would also make a group of people more united and strong than if they weren't told to keep to their own.
I wonder why all of the prophets were concentrated in such a small area, why wouldn't God send them to other places as well; does that mean that people in Japan, who had no way of knowing about Islam, all went to Hell?
One thing that brings people into religion is family and society, but for a person living in a secular society and born to non-religious parents, the pathway to religion is something they have to find on their own, which seems quite difficult when you're not surrounded by a dominant religion and thus don't have the pressure to conform.
Again, I wish I was religious and had faith; I think it's nice that some people have a pretty clear set of rules to live by, a community that comes with it, and a clear direction and meaning for life, but I can't help but to be a skeptic.
