Did Arabs ever eat their slaves?
>>2315025
Yea all the time, its part of their "culture" the fucking savages
>>2315025
>“They question thee about eating slaves and games of chance. Say: In both is great virtue, and (some) sin for men; but the sin of them is lesser than their usefulness. And they ask thee what they ought to eat. Say: that which is your right hand possesses (ie, your slaves). Thus Allah maketh plain to you (His) revelations, that haply ye may reflect.”

Cannbalism is strictly prohibited in islam
Were there ever any anciant greeks that went broke and ate their slaves?
Give me a lot of details please, and slowly.
>>2314991
Why would you eat them if you could sell them?
>>2314991
>eating those who aliviate you from hard manual work
why would it be that way instead of forcing them to grow more crops?
>>2314991
Stop making threads about eating slaves
Hey /his/. I seem to be the one person on here who has studied Assyriology and I can't sleep. I generally only trip for this topic.
So if anyone wants to know anything/discuss Sumerians/Akkadians/other peoples of the clusterfuck that is Mesopotamia, I'm here.
Preemptively, the youtuber known as Sargon of Akkad is a faggot.
>>2314990
what could be a possible origin of sumerians?
What do you think was happening in the near east in the thousand or so years before writing?
Also, where before 2000 BC would you pick to live in if you had to.
>>2314990
is there anything we will never know because isis destroyed it?
Why couldn't Nazi Germany invade Britain? I see lots of people saying that Britain was incredibly weak in WW2 and the Nazi's military was far superior. So I'm curious as to why Britain didn't fall to the Nazis.
>>2314884
report and hide folks

https://www.philmasters.org.uk/SF/Sealion.htm
Part of the reason is that the Germans just didn't have the right equipment needed to do a naval invasion of that magnitude.
Can we all agree the republic was much more interesting than the empire? A senate allows for many more interesting historical beats than a a sovereign

>Not Christian
Into the lake of fire it goes!
>>2314782
they can hardly be blamed for being born before jesus.
>>2314779
Both were interesting. Rome didn't suddenly become boring because it switched political leaders.
How good is this book?
>>2314635
Depends what you mean. It's full of lies and distortions but it's very persuasive and radical leftists consider it legit.
>>2314660
never read it......
is it Guns, Germs and Steel levels of shit?
>>2314665
No, Zinn is a real historian, Diamond is literally an ornithologist. The problem with this book is that Zinn is completely committed to his ideology (Marxism) and so filters everything thru that lens. His book is "wrong" because of this bias, not because he's an idiot writing about things he has zero knowledge of, as with Diamond.
Random quick question: does anyone know if any other nations/empires attempted to enslave the Chinese? Most of the sources and such that I've read all tackle the issue from the US point of view, but I'm curious if anything has ever happened in terms of the attempted institutionalization in Chinese soil.
>>2314426
I guess maybe the Mongols, the British, the QING dynasty.
>>2314426
The Japanese attempted it. The Spanish planned to try.
>>2314426
'Enslave the Chinese'
Someone's been watching too much Hollywood.
Has anyone in history attempted to enslave 'the Europeans'?
Also nice pretentious misuse of 'institutionalisation'
And the answer is yes a group of sinitic tribesmen from the Yangtze river made everyone surrounding them their bitch and eventually made them think they were part of the Yangtze OGs
Was the Spanish Empire the greatest and most epic of all times? Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, Reconquest, Magellan-Elcano circumnavegation, discovery of the New World and the Battle of Otumba, the great Battle of Cartagena de Indias........
They're top five, along with Britain, Rome, Mongolia, and maybe Persia or the Dutch or something.
>>2314372
I agree. It was indeed glorious, but Rome for instance..
Yes, it was.
Has there ever been a multi-cutural/ethnic nation or empire that hasn't broken up? I am curious because according to one Belgian historian Europe is headed towards continent wide civil war in the next 30 years.
http://www.krone.at/welt/historiker-buergerkrieg-ist-nicht-zu-vermeiden-warnung-an-europa-story-552009
So I ask you /his/, is there a multi-kulti empire or nation that didn't implode under its own weight?
Switzerland has been pretty good.
There isn't a whole lot that money can't fix.
>>2314330
EVERY empire to date has eventually imploded. You don't even get to "empire" status without including other peoples and polities which usually implies a multicultural character.
>>2314330
Sweden and Denmark comes to mind.
where do y'all go when/if you buy his-related shit?
I know that plenty of y'all own jewelry/weapons from history, where do y'all buy?
what have y'all bought?
>>2314323
try y'ally'ally'all.redneck
>>2314331
y'all is actually a repairing of the English language after it lost it's second-person plural, coming from the Scots "ye aw" (coming from the Scots-Irish who settled in the American South), from Old English "ge".
There is literally nothing wrong with "y'all", the rest of the Anglo world needs to get on our level.
>>2314323
Maybe y'all should try y'all a website y'all by'all the nallme of ebay.y'all, y'all.
Why wasn't fascism more popular in Britain?
the whole point of fascism is that its the government form of nostalgia for the good old days when we had a king and everything was rosy and perfect. Britain still had a king and he hadn't had any real power in centuries, so no nostalgia for being ruled by a despot.
BEADY
>>2314237
Britain was on top of its game and fascism is a reactionary ideology so there was no need for it
Could ancestry in some ways control the shape of the palate?
Could hunter-gatherer peoples with more meat-based diets for example develop a sharper, more narrow palate similar to that of a wolf or bear as compared to farming cultures?
Pic related, I believe these are rain forest aborigines whom subsisted largely on plants. Exhibit beautiful development and wide palates.
>>2314206
Negroid and Mongoloid people have larger teeth than Caucasoids, so yes. Also, Asians have uniquely shaped incisors. Ancestry determines everything, evolution occurs much more quickly than we tend to believe.

>>2314222
>evolution occurs much more quickly than we tend to believe.
It's a pretty odd coincidence that humans all developed agriculture within ten thousand years of each other, then. I guess all populations select equally for intelligence. Maybe not civilizations, you can be stupid and survive in a civilization.
>There is no meaning in life
>Death is not a negative state
>Living only has utility in so much as you derive net positive enjoyment from it
>There is no reason to not kill yourself if life leaves you with more unhappiness than happiness
What's wrong with this reasoning?
No answers that rely on a particular religion being correct.
>>2314095
>There is no meaning in life
If you examined the definition of "meaning" you'd realize the flaw in this statement.
>>2314233
Sorry.
*Life doesn't have inherent value
>>2314095
I'm not saying you're wrong, but you have no more basis to claim that life is without meaning than that it is meaningful because you don't know anything about the fundamental nature of the universe.
All you have is some pretty decent math correlations with stuff you see. You have no idea why the stuff is there, where it came from, why it should behave so regularly, or why you should have any of the thoughts or feelings that you have.
would ww1 have happened anyways?
Why do you even think there is a valid answer to this question

Reminder that the conflict between Moses and the Pharaoh is a complete fabrication because the jews were never enslaved by egyptians and were never even in egypt.
