Monarchy with enatic-cognatic succession.
What's the best philosophy for living day to day?
If I focus on many things I will get less done. If I focus on few things I will possibly get more done but cuck myself in the process.
If I give up on boring books then I enjoy life more, save a lot of time, and I think I'm snart enough to judge the worth of things. If I read boring books then I know more and I can get my pseud cred.
If I schedule my time I may get more done but I cuck myself hard. If I don't schedule my time then advertising and distractions will crush my time and I'd have to be deluded to think otherwise.
And so on. I just feel guilty non stop, as if I'm not doing something important and doing things the wrong way. There's a smartass piece of wisdom telling you to do anything.
Currently I lean towards the non cuck non structured side of things, with a strong use of my bullshit detector (giving up on books and things I find boring) but it feels like drifting and playing the lottery. On the other hand I can avoid reading 1000s of pages of continental philosophy or Russian and Victorian novels and pretending they're profound.
Do what thou wilt.

Hello /his/
I'm pretty new to this board, but last week I learned about the historical relations between the Dutch and Japanese empires. As it turns out, there's a rich history between the two nations, with the dutch being the only western trading partner with Japan for more than 200 years.
I never knew about this 'friendship' (it wasn't actually all that friendly, very strict) and thought it was pretty cool. It also got me wondering about other unlikely friendships and alliances between nations, either today or throughout history. Usually two or more nations that aren't geographically close or culturally not very similar that for some reason maintained a good relationship.
Also things like how the Swedish royal family can be traced to a Frenchman who became king because he was chill with Swedish soldiers when he beat them and just let them go home.

I'm not sure if that's an insult or a compliment.

Why does Europe have a bunch of boring tricolor flags? What happened with having symbols or actual creativity with flags then autistic tricolors?

So you can see them from far away.
They fell for the anti-monarchy meme
Can anyone explain the Precolumbian world its extreme fondness of human sacrifice? No other part of the world did it like the ancient Americas.
>>2309981
Without being very informed on the subject, I've always thought there was a chance that their savagery was exagerated by their European conquorers.
>burn all of heir records
>give a disgusting account of their culture
The idea of sacrifice is very understandable in ancient cultures.
Humans anthropomorphize the world in order to better understand it. When disasters happen they assume it's because of capricious gods. Humans don't like feeling powerless so they make up ways of appeasing the gods. What do gods want? Well as anthropomorphization they obviously value what humans value, and humans value food and other humans most of all. So ancient cultures usually sacrificed food, animals, or other humans to gods in order to appease them and in so doing feel less powerless.

How can you prove if someone was speaking to God or not?
>>2309853
extreme and repetitive actions is a liar's behavior
If I don't agree with them then they weren't speaking to god
Would you like to see a modernized Ancient Rome?
>>2309802
Yes, I plan on visiting it some day.
I wish for nothing more.
>>2309802
No, because then it wouldn't be ancient anymore.

I choose that of the 1927 Solvay Conference physicists
they just stole from Ancient Egyptian science

So no one is going to respond to OP's troll attempt about the Solvay scientist stealing from Egyptians?

END QUOTE
I hate it when people do that. Why even end quote before saying what they're going to say?
>>2308737
what are you even talking about
>>2308748
Quote, You must be the change you wish to see in the world, end quote.
You say you are quoting, you quote, and you say you are done quoting.
Many americans instead do it like this:
Quote unquote, You must be the change you wish to see in the world.
Is it actually considered poor form to have one of these as decoration, or is this just a case of people getting offended on behalf of Buddhists?
I get a giggle anytime I see anything buddha related. The guy literally said not to worship him.
>>2308652
You can use him as a symbol to represent something (usually peace and inner tranquility) without worshiping him as a literal God.
>>2308651
It's another case of virtue signaling.
You can show how awesomely SJW you are by complaining about ridiculous bullshit like this.
