My computer case has fan holes only like this and the video card is running way hotter than the CPU. I feel the floor fan is blowing all the cool air past the video card.
Would it help to install some sort of baffle to direct the airflow to the video card fans? Or should I drill a hole in the front of the case and install an additional intake?

What does one need to read in order to really understand how CPUs work, so to make an informed decision on what CPU to buy?
Pic unrelated
Depends what you want to understand. What metrics to compare them by? What types of CPU exist? Or straight up design-from-scratch knowledge?
consumer desktop CPU's are fucking black magic at this point, you won't understand how they work because no business is going to spill its secrets.
The system's fucked.

Thats easy, buy anything from Intel, you can't go wrong
How often do you clean your PCs /g/? and how do you it?

About once every 5-6 months. Front fan grille gets really bad, need to clean that more often, but it's easier to pull the front off.

Bought a new hard drive and a SSD yesterday, plugged them in and went to disk manager to sort everything out there but it won't discover them. Checked the bios, they don't appear anywhere there either.
Tried other sata ports and cables to no success either, and to double check i tested cables and ports on my current hard drive and that still shows up so I know it's not a problem with any cables or ports. Can't for the life of me figure this out, did a CMOS reset, AHCI is enabled, updated BIOS. I even tried RAID mode for giggles and all it did was bluescreen on startup.
The motherboard is a MSI 970 gaming.
Any other info needed to help i will be happy to provide, I really need this storage space as i'm sitting at 10gb left on my current hard drive.

It's probably an issue with your BIOS settings, a reset won't change the necessary options, and

Generally you'll have to be in some sort of University or government research setting in order to access one. I administrate a good portion of the HPC resources at my University, and we do not allow anyone not linked to the University to buy time on the systems

AMD Ravenridge Vega in a U-tier SKU vs Intel Iris Graphics 650 (the eDRAM $400+ housefire version)
Ravenridge isn't out for another 2 months.
>>61830809
all over the place... or is the iris 650 that good?
Also forgot to mention gfxbench is reading 300MHz off Vega so it's most likely running with the Radeon GPU profiler on.
>>61830809
I'm seeing a trend of Intel doing a lot better at offscreen FPS than onscreen FPS, it's similar with a gtx1050 too.

Any idea how efficient ghe x86 emulation is? Meaning, will this have superior battery life runnin x86 apps vs an x86 laptop.
>>61830643
The main thing is probably cost, intel charges hundreds of dollars for mobile dual core chips. ARM chips with similar performance are less than $100. The price on some intel low power chips is just insane they are 400 or more, intels position is pretty much "we're intel what the fuck are you going to do about it? Put AMD bulldozer in a notebook?"

>>61830432
>any news on the price
Not as such, but since even i5's are now getting 6 cores it's unlikely it will move by more than ~20€.
I'd fully expect the 8700k to go for the same price as the 7700k or the 6700k before that.
