Install dnscrypt.
>>
>>61830849
Explain me why
>>
>>61830861
The only thing that works against dnschangers.
Even if your modem gets rekt, you're fine as long as you got dnscrypt on the router.

>>

I did, 5 years ago.

Kinda unrelated question: Can I run my own DNS server at home? What are the benefits? Is it hard?
>>
>>61830952
there are no benefits
name servers were initially "at home" but that caused lots of problems with updating information. there's a reason DNS is centralized and works the way it does
>>
>>61830952
>>61832310
Saying there are no benefits is taking it a bit too far. I run a small dns cache on my home server (unbound), and I've noticed some benefit in the time to load webpages I regularly use. It's no replacement for having non-horrible Internet service, but it's definately nice.
>>
>>61830849
this thing is not very stable and sometimes it stops resolving until i restart it
>>
>>61830849
I currently use opendns. I tried dnscrypt, it works, but I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Besides, there are a fuckton of servers in their list and I have no idea which ones I should really trust, if any. Then there's the Country issue, I don't know which one is best, and if they censor something because of their laws. I wanted to try Switzerland but there weren't many servers there last time I checked, or they were slow or something, I can't remember.
Which one do you use?
>>
>>61830849
i use it. how do i make it permanent. picture related.
>>
>>61834309
what font is that? looks qt as fuck
>>
>>61830849
How to install and configure dnscrypt from source?
Can I use dnssec too?

Manuals OP, give me manuals!
>>
I fecked my phone to run dnscrypt-proxy and used an init.d script to do some iptables magic that redirects all traffic on port 53 to 127.0.0.1. Are you proud of me, /gee-whiz/?
