Get a decent dac/amp and a HD-600, they're neutral as hell with decent bass.

I use the allman style. I don't see a lot of people using it for java or javascript. I like it because it puts the opening and closing braces on the same level and spaces everything out. It's just easier for me to read and see where the braces lie.

A lot of people I know use the ratliff style. I find it harder to read.

Here's a wikipedia article on the styles:

I use "Java style" (i.e. opening brace on the same line as the conditional/loop statement or function/struct/class declaration, closing brace on its own line after the body of the block). I find Allman style more aesthetic in some ways, but the way code collapsing works in my ide, it hides all lines AFTER the opening brace up to the closing brace.

So if I write a function like
void sayHello() {
std::cout << "Hello, World!\n";
}

when collapsed it shows as
void sayHello () {

but, if I use Allman style, it instead collapses as

void sayHello()
{

which I think looks silly.

Because it doesn't work in JavaScript, thanks to the retarded semicolon insertion for retards.

There is no reason to upgrade from your note 4 to note 7 whatsoever. Wait till next year for the note 8. I repeat, no reason to get a note 7 at all. Keep using your note 4

let's talk about backpacks.

backpacks, briefcases, duffels, good luggage combinations and brands. also discussion of different types of bags and their ergonomic strongpoints; which bags fit which carried tech; etc.

i know this is from reddit, but no reddit-tier edc circlejerking or bag bragging allowed.

suck a dick, still better than desktop threads.
they're tech accessories and are essential for anyone who needs their tech stuff for work or uni or whatever. for real, we have /tpg/, mouse threads, pen threads, /hpg/ and the circlejerkers from edc threads. all of those can pertain to this conversation, and at least this won't be focused on
>muh guns
vs
>muh no guns
bullshit. i am generally curious about how other people who are heavy tech users, and use expensive/particular stuff, carry it all around safely and effectively.

anyone have any suggestions for something like cocoon packs? i need a bag that has good compartmentalization, but i don't like the general style of the bag itself. maybe something with a bunch of pockets?

and does anyone else use carabiners to stop wires from tangling?

Why there is no good and professional, Linux compatible graphism and video editing softwares?

>>

>lynda.com

There are good Linux video&photo editing programs, just because you don't hear about them doesn't mean they don't exist. Stuff like Krita, lwks and to some extent kdenlive are actually good. Not as good as stuff like sketch, adobe programs or Vegas though.

A lot of people disregard them however due to them not behaving similar to adobe suite programs, which is pretty stupid reasoning.
>>
>>55881671
For photography I have everything I need (Gimp, RawTherapee...) - it's a hobby for me.
But I need real professional softwares since I work in that field (CMYK support, cutting machines plug-in, fast workflow, compatibility with industry and customer's standard...).

Are there any online programming beginners guides NOT written by autistic geniuses?
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Most are written by ostensibly everyday people. Which ones are you reading? Just pick up an O'Reilly book or something similar.
>>
>>55881558
My problem is that I learn best when I am trying to do one specific thing i.e. write one specific script and learning several little things to do it. But a lot of the guides will just throw out all this information that I don't know what to do with
>>
>>55881580
I haven't learned a new language in quite a few years, but IIRC most O'Reilly (and similarly designed books) teach you with mini projects split across a few chapters.

But if you're just talking about the usual boilerplate up front about primitive operations, general formatting, and whatnot -- that just sort of comes with the territory. Don't get caught up on it by trying to memorize everything; once you get started with a project, things will start making a bit more sense.

Basically, don't try to memorize or even understand everything you read. Learning a language takes time and a lot of practice; many things won't make sense at first, but you'll slowly pick them up one by one (yet your list will continue to grow with more complex things).

I got impatient when every single custom 1070 is well above $400.
I just got the rebate approved on my 980ti, bringing the grand total to $350.
Was it a mistake to get it when it's now a legacy product?

bumping for interest, I am looking into the 1070 vs 980ti since neither the 1060 nor 480 are able to run witcher3 at ultra 60fps 1080p

So I need to do some shit in Java because muh mobile. Can anyone recommend a java book for grown ups? I got pic related, but it's a shit book.

I'd like something along the lines of Bjarne's "The C++ Programming Language" where I can just look up the semantics how constructors work and how/when parent class constructors are called without having to wade through heaps of top kek funnies and irrelevant shit.
