/g/ I want to make a C L U S T E R but my computers all have different architectures. Can I get x86 x64 ARM etc to play nice as a SSI cluster somehow?

I have a two weeks trip planned this year including a total of 24 hours spent on a plane, and I'm looking for a convienient device for traveling.
I don't really know what I should be looking at.
My requirements are:
- Display from 10" to 14"
- Full hd preferred
- Light weight
- Good battery life
- For web browsing, watching 720p videos at least, generally casual use, no gaming
- Free software friendly. Doesn't have to be trisquel tier but it has to run a libre OS and have as out of the box as possible hardware support.
- Touchscreen support would be nice on a device where it makes sense but absolutely not necessary

I'm considering the following options:
- A tablet running cyanogenmod / ubuntu touch / firefox OS?
- A cheap notebook running linux, either x86 or ARM
- A higher tier x86 ultrabook with good linux support. I really like the lenovo yoga style flip monitor but the linux support for this probably blows dicks.

If you have one such device and want to give me your opinion this would be greatly appreciated.

tl;dr looking for a free software friendly portable device for casual use
