So what's the deal with mIRC? I'm not really sure how to get it to do what all I want it to do. In fact, I have so little knowledge about IRC I'm not even sure what all it CAN do.

So I want to finally teach myself how to C#/C++. Not just the basics, but to an advanced level at least. From personal experience, I know that most things you learn (be it a spoken language, math, physics, instruments, etc) tend to have a few core ideas (or "functions") that drive the entire topic, and learning them equals to learning 80% of what you'll ever apply in them, with the rest being close to irrelevant and memory-inefficient to bother learning (and should only be learned when/if the need arises to).
I'm pretty sure that it's the same with coding, and before I go balls deep into it, I'd like to have a map of priorities of what I should be learning and what to avoid to achieve the fastest route of mastering it.

It'll take a while, but try to learn the STL's best practices, use modern C++17 and learn all that new shit: threads, random, everything.
Try to get familiar with metaprogramming tooling, constexpr, templates all that jazz.
But it all comes naturally from doing projects and reflecting on how to make your own code better, so just do that: never stop learning new shit.

Anyone able to offer advice?#
I left my chromebook on the grass in the garden overnight and it has some water damage.
The enter key and # key both trigger together. If I press enter it does enter + # and same if i press # etc.
Oh and the down arrow key does page down now instead of line/scroll down.
I've stripped the keys and cleaned dusted them but the damage seems more indepth, Any ideas?#

I actually dropped it getting out of my car last night, bout 8pm and it was sat on the grass outside my flat, 1foot off the public footpath with people walking past it all night and morning till 11am and nobody picked it up.
Not only am I a retard but I'm also one lucky fucker.
Anyway the keys just started working properly, so guess it was still drying out.

I don't even use Linux, but it's very lightweight. If you have older hardware, you can see some actual performance increase from switching it over to something like mint without sacrificing familiarity.
