I'm a newfag who just started computer programming and am writing a program that'll look, at an array, and preform different mathematical functions in order to get an idea of the majority or minority in the data. Can one of you recommend an asset within the java language that would be useful with this current project?

The big part of data searching is identifying the data you want. If the data y our searching though is large i suggest using a database system. If you don't have that options look into dictionary . basically for large data you want {Key:Value} pairs
