want to browse the internet and do some light video editing at the same time while a small photoshop document is open in the background? heh, too bad kid, you only have 16GB of RAM.
>>56202719
Nope.
You only need 11GB
>>56202719
>32 gigs of ram
>40+ tabs in chrome open
>Substance Painter
>Photoshop
>Spotify
>Fallout 4
>smooth silky 60 fps
feels good
>mfw decide to test pic related
>don't have a hd 5870, use a friends hd6870 instead (close enough)
>gta v the 6870 is getting ~60fps, the 260x is getting ~85fps, on latest crimson drivers
>bf4 the 260x is getting ~60fps high settings, the 6870 is getting ~50
So did AMD gimp their older cards to force people to upgrade? Cause 6870 = 5870 which is supposed to = 260x.
It definitely wasn't vram since on low settings 1080p it was using 1gb, which the 6870 had.
So why is a 260x 25% faster than a 6870 in gta v and 17% faster in bf4 even though they get almost same score in 3dmark firestrike?
There's only an 11% difference in firestrike.
Rest of my specs are
>i7 870 @ 3.8ghz
>10GB dual channel ddr3 1333mhz ram
You're reaping the benefits of GCN optimizations over generations, VLIW4 is dead.
>>56202707
>So why is a 260x 25% faster than a 6870 in gta v and 17% faster in bf4 even though they get almost same score in 3dmark firestrike?
because synthetic benchmarks don't correlate to game or other real world performance metrics, especially not newer games versus older synthetic benchmarks
tl;dr fuckoff to /v/
>>56202707
Except the 5870 is about 10-15% faster than the 6870.
http://www.businessinsider.com/nsa-hack-apple-fbi-2016-8
>After the unprecedented breach of hacking tools and exploits stolen from the US National Security Agency's elite hacking unit, some privacy advocates see it as clear vindication of Apple in its fight with the FBI earlier this year.
>"The component of the government that is supposed to be absolutely best at keeping secrets didn't manage to keep this secret effectively," Nate Cardozo, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, told Business Insider.
>In February, a judge ordered Apple to help the FBI unlock an iPhone that was used by Syed Rizwan Farook, one of two attackers who killed 14 people in a December terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California. That order set off a vigorous debate between law-enforcement officials seeking evidence and technologists worried over broader implications for personal privacy.
>While the company's legal team fought the order, Apple CEO Tim Cook published a letter arguing against being forced to build a so-called backdoor that would subvert the encryption that not only kept the shooter's phone secure, but also the smartphones of millions of other Apple users.
TL;DR
>Apple: If we're forced to build a tool to hack iPhones, someone will steal it.
>FBI: Nonsense.
>Russia: We just published NSA's hacking tools
Reminder that there were a sizeable amount of "people" (alt-right) on here that were damning Apple for not handing the keys to iPhones to the FBI.
Tim Cook vindicated.
APOLOGIZE
Would Google or Microsoft have done the same?
What cool shit can I connect to my phone with USB OTG? I've only ever tried a mouse.
Pic unrelated
>>56202611
Keyboard, gamepads, powered hdd, usb drives, printers, whatever the shit linux and android can recognized with an usb port.
>>56202660
Just tried a flash drive and a keyboard, the flash drive worked well but the keyboard didn't power on. I might need a powered one, possibly
>>56202611
The best option is an Xbox controller for on the go gaming. You can also try a flexible keypad but I'll recommend that for a table (similar to a iPad pro) for light file editing on the go
What happened?
Has everyone stopped using them entirely?

yeha man games are wicked cool

Change to AMD, also use Windows 10 enterprise or a modified 7 build instead. Be sure to use two different drives for each OS.
is apple paying them to shill or do they do it for free?
>>56202495
that context really shows what you're talking about...
>>56202604
huh?
>>56202838
We are "huh?"ing at you as well. What are you talking about?
Post cases!
Will this phone work on Verizon? I know the bands match up except for number 13 but does it work? Im asking to make sure it doesn't have a problem where it glitches or gets kicked off before spending $400
>>56202441
it will not work on verizon, doesn't support 700MHz upper block c,where Verizon has the open devices requirement
Lol nothing works with Verizon unless you buy a phone from them. Change your carrier.
>>56202441
>can't change the battery on the fly.
I thought they were smarter than that.
Can we have a netbook/low-end laptop thread?
I'm looking at getting pic related for a school/shitpost machine but it's only 2gb ram and can't be upgraded.
How does win 10 even run on 2gb ram?
I've got one chrome tab open in win 7 on my desktop and my ram usage is to to 5gb already.
Any suggestions or recommendations for myself and others on <$200 machines?
Has anyone had any luck with chinkshit brands?

Look into a Chromebook. You won't be able to run Windows apps but you can install Ubuntu on it if you really need to code or something like that.
>>56202419
I was thinking of going that route as well, but my thinkpad is still live and kicking.
Trying to sell a gaming laptop to get a Surface pro 4.

This thread could be awesome!

is MS done?
is it because I have anti-beacon installed?
is it because I havent bothered paying to activate it since I installed it almost a year ago?
yet I literally just got the last 1511 security and other updates just within the last week according to my auto-update installs.
or maybe they silently stopped pushing it thru amid all the admitted bugs it has....lol

>His OS is so shitty he has to disable the main security feature of computing.
Back to /v kid.
I keep being told pic related is a good one so im going to buy it. Im really into Gayme Development, but in the end I just want something to market myself so any book thatll help me accomplish that would be awesome. The only language I currently know is Java and Ive been self teaching (Via tutorials) for about 4 months now. I would say Im above a Novice but below a Journeyman. Somewhere in between knowing what I'm doing but not understanding how in the fuck to implement it.
There's Game Programming Patterns or something like that if you search online.
How do you imagine advanced alien civilization?
>be alien civilization
>make AI/singularity
>upload brain to computer
>everyone does it
>become one consciousness
>leave home planet in small ship made of nanobots
>nano bots form into advanced battery and solar panel
>live off solar power and charge batteries until the sun dies
>transform into spaceship and point my self to the nearest star for more charging
Would I build a "star farm" and use giant robots to "build" stars in an attempt to preserve myself?
Or would I, as an advanced being with all knowledge (probably would have simulated the multiverse, etc) just turn my self off after the simulation to see what death is?
cucked by us
>be OP's planet
>do as OP said
>come earth
>shot down by turk missiles
>>56202170
this is the writer for independance day 3 looking for ideas, isn't it?
>turn self off
the only rational option, considering how suffering this life is.
and living in a simulation, well there's literally no reward.
We are currently the most advanced life form in the universe. It is littered with failed societies and the remnants of their failures.
