France and Germany interior ministers (the two persons in pic related) are trying to create a law with the help of the European Commission to make encryption illegal, or at least create some compulsory backdoors for "terrorism prevention™" purposes

How do you feel about them trying to violate crautiland and baguetteland's inhabitants rights?
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
They will lose, just like their HADOPI system is a huge failure and waste of money.
>>
Banning encryption is not even technically feasible.
>>
You can't make "encryption" illegal any more than you can make "doors" illegal.

An actual epaper reader like kindle is far better for reading text. Only use a tablet if you need color pictures.

Why are college students so fucking desperate to get a gaming laptop for school at such an unrealistic price?

Why does ANYONE pay the autistic price for a "Gaming" laptop. Fucking retards do.
>>
>>56258692
Desktops today are seen as social suicide on a college campus.

They want to have their cake and eat it too. Gaymen while still not being a social pariah.
>>
Been there. To me it was a laptop that had the features needed, and then being a gaming laptop was a plus at the end.

Similar price to a MBP 13 when it came out. Should of went with the MBP since it would of hield it's value.

Gaming laptops drop value faster I think.

I was looking for a good second monitor which I just want to use for having a video, chat or site open.
Currently having a 1280x1024 ones but I would like to get a smaller or atleast narrower one, however at these resolutions I barely find anything proper.

Anyone care to help me?

17" is the smallest one they made at 1280x1024. Dell's have a really small bezel, or you could tear apart a laptop screen and use a universal LVDS driver.

MSR7 [£170]
OR
MDR - 1A [£110]

Desperately looking for advice on which one to buy, please help me /g/

>>
Check out the MDR-1ADAC, much better but more expensive.
>>
>>56258319
I have MSR7 pretty accurate but a little bright sounding and can get fatiguing after prolonged use. Especially if you intend to use them in noisy environments at loud volume.

Base is fairly fast and accurate. I find them to be really good with female vocals in particular. It is not accentuated but is by no means lacking in bass.

I hear the MDR1A is warmer sounding and weighs a fair bit less so probably comfier. Passive isolation on both headphones is relatively poor, a fair bit worse on the Sony.

Padding is not thick enough on the MSR7 for me, ears touch hard plastic on the driver slightly and develop a hot spot after an hour or so of use. Not sure about the MDR-1A.

You might find clamping pressure to be a bit excessive on the MSR7 but you can bend them to reduce pressure if it is irritating, or stretch them on a tissue box overnight.

Anyway, you should take this to /hpg/
>>
>>56258319
I have ATH-M50X and they are very accurate so either get them or the MSR7 for a more premium feel

The BLU Life One X is pretty damn competitive, based on specs.

Anyone here have experience with it?

I've had a Life One X since March. I'm waiting on it be being returned after being RMAed. Within a month there was a dead pixel then the following month the power button fell off. Neither of which really bothered me for $150. After another couple of months a weird discoloration started happening down the left side of the screen so I sent it back for repair. For the money and apart the build issues I've been happy with it.

The customer service is lacking somewhat. I had to pay to send it to Blu and wait what will be two weeks by the time I get it back. LG on the other hand sent me a replacement phone and a label to print to return it for free once that had arrived. Two weeks without your phone is too long to wait really.

I just wanted to share this idea of mine around and since it has to do with passwords and hackers i thought the technology thread would be good.So if you want a good password all you got to do is get paper and a pen, then here is an example of a really good password: Dk.9f.3n.5G@#2AiHi~9745
no computer will be able to get it since hacking devices seek out words and if you have no words, capital letters and symbols, you'll be pretty much unhackable. But you can't remember it,no problem! Just write your password on a piece of paper and you can either tape it on the computer or keep it somewhere safe.Boom! Unhackable password=unhackable account.

Welcome to /g/ - gay sex!

In case you haven't heard, the technology board has moved to >>>/out/.
>>
>>56258197
Hacking sometimes come from the inside.
Also, good passwords don't protect you against exploits on vulnerable applications.
>>
>>56258197
If someone finds an exploit they can get into your computer and use a keylogger, also, you might as well just use a passphrase as generally password crackers don't check spaces.

Are Chromebooks a meme or would it actually be worth getting one and switch over to Linux? I mainly use Linux anyway and Chromebooks, for the hardware they provide, are quite cheap. I'd be mostly only looking to perhaps switch out the SSD for my 512 GB if it's SATA compatible.

They are comfy little meme machines for poorfags.

Nothing more.
>>
You can achieve the same thing on a cheap Windows netbook I imagine?

Just install Linux and some light weight WM.

You'll be able to play music, browse the web, do some light programming and that's it.
>>
>>56258196
just get one with removalble memory, or one with an m-sata ssd. The chink ones like hisense are soldered to the board, and they tend to be shitty san disk ssds that crap out just after warranty. One plus side is that I did not notice any tamper seals ( ^:
