I cant start a widget application in QT Creator it says "No valid kits found. Please add a kit in the options or via the maintenance tool of the SDK." When I click options I have no idea what to do.. I've tried solving this myself but the problem remains.

You mean by your bistros package manager?

Installing things that are not part of the close core inner circle through a bistros package manager is always a mistake. Get the newest version using the Qt update/installation tool from the Qt page.

Mozilla Firefox 51 will launch with support for the Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) built-in to the web browser.

If you check browser support for various audio and video codecs, you will soon realize that support is a mess.

Not only is it different depending on the web browser that you are using, but it may also be different depending on the operating system.

Some formats, like mp3 or H.264, are supported by the majority of browsers while others, like FLAC or Ogg are not necessarily.

While you may not come across a single service or site that supports FLAC or OGG depending on what you do on the Internet, you will benefit from native integration if you do.

FLAC is for instance used by several high quality audio streaming services that offer lossless audio streams.

The whole external GPU setup is a good option for what I want.
The thing is I hate the way razer's logos and stuff look, but I do like how sturdy they are. Is there any way to get an unbranded Razer laptop? or is there another laptop I could use a core with that is less... awful looking. Could I use this with a thinkpad?

>>

You can use a thinkpad with expresscard port and get a gdc exp adapter for like 50 bucks.
You'll have to supply your own PSU and encasing though, but even then it'll be dramatically cheaper than whatever razer shits out.

Hey lads.

I'm about to buy a new rig for myself with a 1151 socket, but i heard they have issues with Win7, something about not being able to install from USB.

Can i just plug in a drive with an existing win7 installation and then update the drivers that need to be? Will it boot?

I really don't want to go to (((win10))) but maybe I am just slightly delaying the inevitable at this point.

Yes.

And I use linux at work and the only thing I like about it is the shell. I don't think I can be bothered to use it at home.
>>
I did it last week. You need Windows 7 usb patcher (I used Asus one I think) or Intel Windows patcher tool to do it (it adds USB drivers for install). But all drivers vere missing for me after install so I booted lubuntu live USB stick and moved network and USB drivers to PC hard drive, then booted it and installed the drivers.

Currently everything works but it's a hassle, took me a while.

What i want to know is can you cool a amd 9050 with a Noctua NH-D15 6 without issues? if given that my case is large enough and i have adequate ventilation from other fans.....will this work?
no i don't want intel
no i don't a aoi...(just had on leak on me so i want air cooling if at all possible)

>>

you know leaking AIO are covered under warranty right? Some are even lifetime. I'd get a new cooler from the manufacturer.
>no i don't a aoi...(just had on leak on me so i want air cooling if at all possible)
even if this is true, this is the BEST possible cooling
>>
The Noctua will do it just fine, although I would personally recommend an 8370 with an overclock instead simply because the default settings on the 9590 are (imo) more aggressive than you really want to have. You could achieve the same clockspeeds on an 8370 no problem.

An 8350 or 8320 is also an option, but riskier because of extensive binning.

An AIO is still the better choice though.

Asked this in /wsr/ a while ago, someone replied, now i dont know

My parts arrived for my new itx baby
>i5-6500, RX480, 16GB RAM, 256GB 950 Pro M.2 NVMe SSD, 2TB HDD

done with w10 and want to try Arch. I'd still like to keep W10 for my vidya. wiki.archlinux says I just have to install windows first, decrease w10 partition size, boot arch from usb and install on remaining space left. Then use a bootloader to chose what to boot
Plan is to equally divide the SSD size and use the HDD purely for Arch

>>180802
Anon on /wsr/ told me to use VMWare ESXi, but I'm unsure as to how this will exactly work. Doesn't VSphere require an extra pc to connect to the host which runs ESXi?

What is the best way to get this done?

Avoid dualboot and use KVM VGA-Passthrough to play games. This way you can get 97% performance of dual boot but don't have to restart.

This is great, but it may be a little advanced for OP

>>56341718
Is arch gonna be your first linux distro? if so try some other more begginer-friendly distro first.

If it's not and you're unsure about the partition scheme:
-To decrease the w10 partition graphically you can use the windows tool or boot a live gparted usb, or any distro live usb as long as it has gparted.
You can also format your new partitions there or you can follow the arch begginers guide

-To mount your boot partition during the installation process, first mount your root partition and creat a boot folder inside it, then mount the boot partition inside that folder.

Again, this is your first linux experience, try somehing else, Arch is great, but it's not something to have as a first distro.
>>
If you really want arch choose Manjaro or Antergos which is basically arch with a graphical installer and extra repos.

Once you've acquainted yourself with linux, you can try the bare-bones install of just arch.

but I still use Antergos for their extra repos

Hello guys. I was stress testing my gpu (750 ti using furmark) and after tweaking some settings in the stress tester, I noticed a really audible high pitched noise coming from my pc.

I also notice that the voltage goes up when I can hear the noise, but when the noise goes down in volume, so does the voltage. So I think that the voltage might be the thing making the noise, but I can't be too sure. Is it safe to keep using my gpu? When I run a normal test with my normal settings, the voltage stays down, and I don't hear anything.

Once a GPU starts making the Whine of Death you should stop using it immediately before the flourocapacitors erupt and spew conductive acid all over your motherboard.
>>
>>56341543
It's called coil whine which is normal, but you can use your warranty to replace it if it pisses you off.
>>
>>56341608
But it seems to only be because of it's voltage... It's not all the time or anything..

I mean, technically that is correct but if you actually notice that the shadow of a mouse cursor is taking up too much resources it's time to finally get a machine from this millennium.
