I pirated and cracked a program and it works great but the only problem is that I need to disconnect my internet before I start it or set up an inbound/outbound firewall rule to block it from accessing the internet.
I don't want to do the latter because the software has a feature that I like that requires it to have the ability to go online and fetch url's I give it and I don't want to do the former because it's annoying to lose connectivity everytime I want to start it up.
Is there a way I can block the program from connecting to the internet for say 20seconds? That's all I need to prevent it from dialing home and running piracy checks.
The program is naturalreader and I'm on windows
>>56344732
Buy it, dude
Assuming windows
1. Git gud
2. Learn firewall commands
3. Write a batch file that enables a firewall rule to block, launches program, waits 20 seconds, and disables rule
4. Git even gudder and Wireshark it, then block just the necessary connections it does for auth
>>56344854
Ok. I'll look into wireshark

Im looking for a Netbook or a small Laptop. Its going to be carried in a shoulder bag so its got to be light. I really don't want a tablet.
Specs wise, I dont expect the world but I dont want it to slow down while surfing the web or from having programs like Steam, Skype or Photoshop like my current toaster does

Is there any kind of complementary character to Icarus in Greek mythology? I mean, one that flies too close to the water so to speak.
Tbqh I want to know this because I'm deciding on hostnames for my 2 linux partitions, one of them is gentoo (complicated to use and very do-it-yourself, as you all know) and the other is antergos (an easy for-everyone distro).
I thought being a craftsman, daedalus would be good for gentoo. And something connected to him, icarus, would actually fit quite well for antergos since it's an OS that betrayed "its father's" teachings, or at least betrayed the "traditional" philosophies of linux, those being DIY and the so-called unix way, neither of which antergos gives a fuck about.
You could say that antergos has hubris because it fits in with that sort of trendy attitude in modern consumer tech of being cute and easy, "we're great and if you want to do anything not explicitly supported by us, fuck you", this works too because of lennart and arch's (and antergos') dicksucking of systemd. But I'd say complacency fits antergos and the people who use it much better, so instead of icarus I want to use his compliment, if such a character exists.
You may wonder why I'm using antergos if I hate it so much. Well I'm using in for convenience because I'm lazy, and naming it something conscious of the fact that I don't think I should be using it is a sort of self-derision thing.
If anyone has any other suggestions pls tell

Bit memey and daedalus sounds more beautiful but it works

What is a decent GUI based program for Linux that displays information like speccy does?

>go for coffee last weekend
>go for dinner last week
>no mutual friends on facebook, don't know her last name
>haven't talked since (not a good match imo)
>comes up on my People You May Know on Facebook today
I'm confused here.
I'd reckoned that Facebook used some sort location detector to determine when you were near someone, and suggested them as a friend if you weren't friends already. That I understand.
But why is it only appearing like a week later? What triggers that notification in the Facebook backend, given that apart from
1.) Tinder match (to be fair, logging in using the facebook API)
2.) Being in proximity to each other
we had no relation to each other

Can something ever replace JavaScript?
Yeah it's called CSS.
>>56344462
Do you really want CSS to be Turing complete?
Web assembly will make every language viable.
It just needs access to the DOM and other web APIs.
As long as they won't do that, no, it will always come down to javascript.

first for zig
Still working on my C messageboard.
Usernames and tripcodes are coming, as soon as I rewrite my query search functions, because apparently, I never needed to take empty fields before.
Should I read the original SICP and learn LISP (which I don't know at all) or get the Python version, which I know quite well?
Is there a way to browse this site without viewing the pictures? I am trying the no-fap thing and I get distracted whenever I go to /b/

When Linus from LTT does not know how to solve a problem, he throws more hardware at it. Pic relate is his "storage solution".

Hey /g/ excuse my blog post but I have to ask you guys something, okay story begin.
>Be me 16 year old shit offered college classes while in highschool
>HellYeah.jpg
>Half days, I get to go to the college campus, and take real computer classes
>I'm only allowed to take 2 classes per semester however
>Don't really care and take a class on networking and some history class
>This goes on throughout the remainder of my high school career and like my high school classes I fucked off majorly.
>Managed to graduate high school with a pitiful 3.2 GPA and my college classes were even worse, we're talking 2.8 GPA
>I wasn't consistently getting a shitty GPA each semester, one semester I would do something like a 3.6 and the next a 2.3, this went on like I said throughout the entirety of my high school career.
>Fast forward to now, I want to finish up pre reqs and general ed shit this college because it's cheaper and then transfer to MSU or something of the likes the only problem is my fucking GPA from college (and high school for that matter)
>Existential crisis begin
>Currently freaking the fuck out because I screwed up so badly and I don't know if I'll be able to recover.
So I guess my question to you /g/uys is 1, do you have any experience transferring colleges, and 2, if I perform better this year like 3.7-3.8 GPA for the semesters will I be forgiven for my past sins.
Also pic very much related.
>>56343999
I didn't know MSU had standards :`)
>>56344056
Currently I'm going off of what they say on the website, stuff like "transfer students need a 3.0 GPA with consistent grades" and what not. I'm only enrolled in 4 classes right now each at 3 credit hours so to bring my cumulative GPA up to a 3.0 this semester I would have to get straight A's which isn't entirely impossible I suppose.
>>56344152
Fuckin go for it. MSU isn't the best of the best, but it's a solid school, and their math dept is really good, from what I hear.
