I cant start a widget application in QT Creator it says "No valid kits found. Please add a kit in the options or via the maintenance tool of the SDK." When I click options I have no idea what to do.. I've tried solving this myself but the problem remains.

How about you tell us which platform and what way you installed QtCreator and which version?
>>56342506
Linux mint installed it thru the software manager and its version 3.0.1

You mean by your bistros package manager?
Installing things that are not part of the close core inner circle through a bistros package manager is always a mistake. Get the newest version using the Qt update/installation tool from the Qt page.
