What the fuck is wrong with the developers at Google?

>What the fuck is wrong with the developers at Google?
Where do I begin...

Try looking harder. It's a deliberate design choice.
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=105666
>We're not going to do Firefox-style lazy tab loading, because when we tested it we were extremely frustrated with it. This isn't an issue of not thinking of it, or not listening to people suggesting it, not "taking you seriously", etc. We simply don't agree that the benefits of this are higher than the costs. One great thing about having multiple browsers is that other vendors can make different design tradeoffs and users can use other browsers when they find something that suits them better.
>For anyone still watching this bug, we've made a few rough improvements to our tab restore algorithm and are looking to refine it more. The ultimate goal is for session restore to be fast, leave the browser usable at all times, and stop loading tabs before the system becomes resource-contended, at which point any remaining tabs will be demand-loaded a la the Firefox option.

>we left out a feature on purpose!
>we did it for you!
>you should be thankful!
Apple antennagate style bullshit. "If you don't like how our thing runs, you're the problem."
>FBI Director James Comey warned again Tuesday about the bureau's inability to access digital devices because of encryption and said investigators were collecting information about the challenge in preparation for an "adult conversation" next year.
>Widespread encryption built into smartphones is "making more and more of the room that we are charged to investigate dark," Comey said in a cybersecurity symposium.
>The remarks reiterated points that Comey has made repeatedly in the last two years, before Congress and in other settings, about the growing collision between electronic privacy and national security.
>The Justice Department decided within the last year to not seek a legislative resolution, and some of the public debate surrounding the FBI's legal fight with Apple Inc. has subsided in the last few months since federal authorities were able to access a locked phone in a terror case without the help of the technology giant.
What do you think, /g/? Are you ready to have an adult conversation on your encryption habits?
go fuck yourself Comey
Hate to rip a comment from slashdot but this was the best riposte I saw
>Yes, Director, the room you're charged with exploring is dark. It's dark not just for you but for everyone. This include people who want to steal our identities or the contents of our bank accounts, who want to take personal pictures or conversations and broadcast them to the world without our consent, who want to perform corporate espionage, who want to see us to prey upon us and our children. Turning on the light may let you see, but you're outnumbered by the criminals in the darkness who are begging you to flip that switch so they too can see.
>If you're willing to step it up and protect us from all those monsters in the dark, then tell us exactly how you plan to protect us and MAYBE we'll let you flip that switch. But somehow I don't think you want to commit the massive amount of resources that will be needed to protect us. If you don't, we want the light to stay off.
why do we still pretend to have """debates""" on these issues? Everyone knows by now that they listen to everything, legally or not. If they feel it's not easy enough they'll push through the "American children defense act" or something
>Crashes, bootloops and bricks randomly after just a few days of use
How can anyone even take lagdroid seriously anymore?
Accidentally smashed my Note 4's screen (not too much - so I won't change it but enough to root the shit out of it and make it a side phone).
Note 7 = shit.
LG/HTC/Sony/Motorola = mediocre
iPhone 7 will probably be shit (first ones are always buggy, until 7s comes out).
Google phones = botnets
Chink phones = shit

Why would anyone not get the snapdragon one?
Also most software problems will be prob fixed with the 7.0 update
Friend of mine works in heavy industry.
He does not drops his phones, but the phone obviously, gets quite dirty at the end of the day.
He wants to buy a smartphone, so he can read emails and whatnot.
He could learn how to use it, that's no problem.
He is also used to small phones, and he wants to carry it all day, so a somewhat smaller phone is preferred.
So far here is what I found:
> CAT S60
+ Tough, small, durable, long lasting, good specs
- Very, very, very fucking expensive
There is a shortage in my country, or globally, I don't know.
Last I checked it was around ~575 USD. Now it's 780 USD.
It would be the perfect device, but it's very expensive.
At least insurance would be a must, which would further add to the price.
> iPhone SE ***
+ Affordable
+ Great battery life (iOS)
+ Simple as fuck (great for newbie people)
+ One of the best cameras on market (except G4/S7)
- 16gb can cause problems later, 64gb is too expensive
- No replaceable battery
> Xperia Z5 Compact
+ Affordable
+ Water proof
- It's fucking slippery glass all around (I have one)
- Cases? All of them sucks ass. There is no good case for this phone.
> Galaxy S5
+ Water / dust proof
+ Good size
+ Still good specs
- Old, no updates anymore
- Specs are a bit outdated
>>56351670
And yeah while the S60 is durable, some grease or some shit can go into it, and can kill the phone.
So it's not like it's bomb-proof or anything, it's just a bit sturdy. Also I am sure if it would get dropped from a ladder, it would get some nasty cracks and scratches.
>>56351676
The *** (which applies to most phones other than the S60) is "slap a tempered glass and case on it".
Obviously an otterbox is NOT an option, it's way too huge, way too thick to be carried around. I was thinking about some Spigen case for the SE.
bump. no one ever had to recommend a phone for a field like this?
(S7 is out of question because it's very, very expensive considering how easily it could break. Same for HTC 10, it's a neat device, but also very expensive.)
Astronauts could probably need more UVA rays.
Those are essential to stave off depression (S.A.D.) for me. Maybe those spacefarers are much the same way. Thoughts?
It would at least give them one more thing to do just for themselves.
>>56351642
>first world problems
Don't worry they're already getting ass blasted by radiation constantly in space so i don't think they're going to feel sad due to a lack of it.
>>56351642
Surely they get vitamin supplements. Op have you tried taking vitamin D?
>he wasted his life caring about autistic shit like what operating system he uses instead of getting laid and having a good time
>>56351639
>he wasted his life caring about what worthless disease-laden whores thought about him instead of doing what the fuck he wanted
>>56351639
>he wasted his time on an anonymous imageboard telling people who do those things they wasted their life instead of using his very valuable time getting AIDS and drinking alcohol
>>56351639
I wasted my life living to my parents expectations.
They wanted the best for me, but it was a too narrow path with a definite deadend.
All it did was turn me into a depressed man in His mid twenties trying to get his shit together and work on his depression while I also try to get into the dating life.
This made me escape into vidya.
So they just delayed my youth and my childhood for their selfish desires and made me a social and somewhat mental cripple.
At least I have found out that programming is fun.
What's the best free movie app I can download at the App Store on my iPhone? thanks!
Install gentoo
>thanks!
>>56351625
Moviebox? It's a web app so you go to the site and add it to your home screen rather than through the app store. I've not used it in a while to know if it hasn't been nuked yet though.

What's the point of brand loyalty when all of it is literally the same shit?
How do you explain this to people?
Support and warranty, as well as pricing.
>>56351558
You buy the cheapest one with the best specs and send it back to the retailer if it breaks.
All the time I see people say "I wouldn't ever buy brand X because they make bad laptops"
>>56351550
It's mind control, essentially.
Of the following two watches, which should I choose...
Thanks in advance for your opinion.

Hey, /g/, I don't really post here much but I'm having a really bad latency problem, would any of you know whats wrong with my pc? I scanned and theres no viruses, and when I try to play steam games like Rocket League it stutters and lags and the audio is fucking awful, and I can't emulate on Dolphin emulator anymore, when the other day before it occurred I was able to flawlessly.
Anyone know what I could do? I can't draw and listen to music anymore and it's killing me. Sorry if this isn't allowed.
Restore points are not a thing in W10 ?
>>56351452
I tried. Even re-installing 7, and going back to the newest Windows 10 update. Still getting stuttering and lag when I draw or play anything.
>>56351442
ur gpu is going to shit
Does having a girlfriend make you a better programmer thanks to the increased serotonin production?
Hell yeah it does. the best feeling in the world is having your dick sucked while working on a project.
>>56351417
Yeah, though I can't speak from experience (30yo KHV) but I'm hitting a productivity and lack of interest wall due to no social life
>wasting all your time satisfying a disgusting 3DPG makes you a better programmer
lol no
how many Titan X's are in your box?
>>56351169
You have 4, correct?
>>56351169
I got mine off Craigslist. So guess.
None.
But then, will anyone reply with a number and timestamp of them?
I am rich and I want the best laptop on the market. I'm thinking of something like Razer blade 14 but I heard that is a meme so what should I get?
