iPhones are great, but they cost an arm and a leg. I think there is zero app advantage for Android because iOS has more quality apps.

i'm not buying this but so many people on /g/ seem not to have any ability to put themselves in the mindset of another entity (be it google, apple, whatever), so here's a swing at explaining it for you guys who apparently need this.

the pixel is the spiritual successor to the nexus line. google needs a line of devices that can satisfiably be called "developer reference phones".

that means nothing flashy. nothing over the top. nothing ambitious or uncertain. everything should be as trusted and reasoned as possible.

the pixel isn't exciting regardless of how you look at it. but it has and does all the things you should expect android phones in the next year to have and do. you can think of it as the median of phones.

medians aren't exciting, but they're pretty good references of the "everyman".

developers are going to buy the pixel. if you want a phone that's trustworthy, you'll buy a pixel. if you're looking for the phone with the most superlative camera, the longest battery life, or the most engrossing display, you'll probably want to wait a bit for the phone that exhibits one of those things. if you want a pretty good screen, pretty good battery life, pretty good camera, etc... then you're set. pick this phone up ASAP.

also, google will keep this device updated more quickly than samsung or LG or HTC will keep their flagships updated. because this is google's answer to developers who need a dev device, and lagging with platform updates would be pretty poor form.

an indiegogo campaign doesn't exactly sound like the return of anything, except shady crowdfunding scams.

then again, you're an OP on 4chan, so you're probably a retarded faggot and the instance of you being into crowdfunding on indiegogo probably means nothing about shady scammy crowdfunding campaigns making a comeback.
