>tfw still on KitKat
Jellybean master race
And it still does everything, doesn't it? Was hoping the Pixel would finally get to me to upgrade from my GS4. Looks like I'll be waiting a while still.
>>56930450
how long do android versions get updates? indefinitely, if the vendor is godly? or what?
>upgrade S3 to CM Marshmallow
>it runs slow as fuck
>>56930467
The second one.
Nexus devices get 2 years of major version upgrades and 3 years of security fixes.
>>56930608
what about with cyanogenmod and the like? do they stop as soon as they push to the next version?
>>56930421
Kys. There's no need to stay on that version. KiktKat is the best. That's all
>>56930654
Cyanogen is community driven and I've found they support devices wayyyyy longer than OEMs
>>56930484
Oct-OS all day nigga
>>56930484
really? i have my s2 on cm13 and i was so surprised how fluid and fast it was for such an old phone. maybe try reflashing it again.
>>56930421
>480x800
>>56930390
Same, literally no reason to upgrade. Well save maybe for that gps bug, mine never works and I know its not hardware cause a reflash makes it work inmediately after booting, until I boot up again..
>>56930654
Thsy try to support the devices as much as possible, but when there are serious issues to keep features working properly they don't update the device.
>>56930718
>tfw still on JB on my E970 because its the only version with a working screen color adjustable kernel and antialiasing
Been using it like a mini tablet for years.
>>56930718
>dalvik
>the best
lolno
>>56930484
lol your phone was probably shit in the first place. Extended my s3 life by a year after flashing cm13. Re flash with another customer ROM. Try Resurrection Remix
How do I exploit KitKat to root a chink chonk phone with it?
I won't use kangaroo root
lsusb says its HTC
Can I put cm on it?
>>56931140
Yes.
>>56930484
>upgrade to cm13
>60fps videos stop playing
Epic
>>56931140
Try towelroot, works up to a specific kernel for some devices
>mfw still on BB10OS
>>56932068
Yeah I have this issue too.
Only works when I play them with VLC.
>>56930390
I have a galaxy S2 I think its the one before kitkat
>tfw no nougat senpai to notice me
CM14 when
Still rocking the note 4 with 4.4.4 , its pretty much the same as the note 7 except my batteries are removable and don't explode as often.
>>56930763
>Cyanogen is community driven and I've found they support devices wayyyyy longer than OEMs
Yesss. Thanks to CM I have Marshmallow on my Galaxy S3.
Some absolute madman is actually porting nougat to it. Can't wait to see if it doesn't suck.
>>56930484
Probably a faulty phone dude.
Running CM13 on my S3 and it's a blast.
Just stay away from memeware like Gapps or facebook
How do I into custom ROMs? I've tried Paranoid Android back during KitKat but have been using rooted stock all the time.
There's a few Nougat ROMs for Nexus 5 but what's the difference?
>>56933176
Only way to find out is to make a backup and experiment the fuck out of it.
>>56930484
>upgrade Note 1 (N7000) to CM13 6.0.1
>it runs faster than stock 4.1.2
wtf.png
>>56933096
>Some absolute madman is actually porting nougat to it. Can't wait to see if it doesn't suck.
I'm not sure but that guy may actually be porting Nougat for my Note 1 also. Is it a NightOwl CM14 build by any chance?
>>56930390
had a HTC Desire 510 with 4.4.2 and grew tired of it
finally upgraded to 5.1.1 with Blu and got a slightly larger phone, 5in is as large as id ever get tho
also the gapps are noticably better and have more features that kitkat did not
>>56930484
every version of android requires more hardware resources, you can see this by the countless "can my phone run x-version" the RAM CPU and GPU requirements are more intensive each upgrade
infact 99% of phones run out of ram before the CPU or GPU performance
its all a ploy
>>56933248
Nah,5 inch is pretty small. I have some italian i-INN Smartlet Six phone (which I can't decide if it's a phone or a phablet) that is about 6 inch and it's big as fucking hell. Shame that not a lot of phones of its size use its chipset (MTK6572) and that the only available ROM is its stock 4.2.2.
>>56933273
my bad its actually 5.5 just checked, Blu Life XL LTE 2 gig version
my last phone was 4.7.
>>56933257
What?
Android bumped it's memory requirements from 340 MB to 512 MB with Lolipop. Wew lad, such a resource hog.
The problem is probably that you embrace the bloat that manufacturers throw at you. Run AOSP and your device won't run out for a while.
I want nougat ;_;
>>56933887
here, have some.
>>56930450
>no Doze
enjoy inferior battery life
>>56930608
Unless Google doesn't like the Nexus device any more... Nexus s 4g got one fucking update.
>>56934123
those are nuggers not nougats
>>56930390
Could somebody explain me why the fuck google is not supporting nexus 4?
Is it not powerful enough to handle new icons design?
google is creating device under their own brand, they are creating mobile os under their own brand
they can not support os updates for their own device that is 3 years old
what the fuck
imagine something like this in normal os
>>56930450
Me too. My GS4 still does what I need and has an Sd slot and replaceable battery, even if the screen is slightly chipped.
>>56933096
Why would you have to port something for the S3 when it's supposed to be a Google supported device (aka. Samsung Galaxy S3 Google Play Edition)?
I only see you as the madman here. You seem to think that 'no updates' is the standard, no?
>>56930390
Same here. I'm not missing a thing desu.
>>56934145
>what is battery saving/stamina mode
>what is debloating
>what is battery optimizing apps
I still have a great battery life on 2800mAh. Usually lasts a day if I'm on it whole day, otherwise 2-3 days.
>>56934885
s3 worldwide is different, s3 using exynos and QUALCOMM only in united states.
>>56934939
so it's a gay phone?
>>56930390
>he's proud of being autistic
>>56934634
Uhh Nexus 4 came out 4 years ago.
>>56930421
There's so much wrong in this picture
>>56935129
it does not matter, nexus 4 is still more powerfull that majority of phones that are out there on market
Like brand new tm r Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) or do I need exploding phone with 8 cores to enjoy brand new nuggat wallpaper?
fuck google, they are not any better than apple
its fucking shame
>>56930390
Still on 4.4.4, the apex
>implying I know what version of Android I'm on
autists. i just get the update whenever my ISP pushes it out. I could give a fuck either way.
>>56937893
>I could give a fuck either way
lrn2english
>>56930390
I'm also stuck on kitkat. LG F60 (D390). It also has 4g disabled (need a password to enable it on hidden menu). Anyone knows of a working aosp lollipop rom? It has SD 410.
Too poor to buy another one.
>>56937893
>Not keeping track of his device's updates
That's an iFag mentality
>>56933257
Add the programmed obsolescence. The CPUs are made to artificially degrade its performance after a couple of years to force you to get a new device.
>>56930390
>tfw google ruined their only good phone series
>>56934411
nougats please
>finally get nougat on Nexus 6
>No Xposed
Holy shit I miss it and purenexus
Also kit Kat, but it's trying to get me to upgrade
I don't actually know the differences
Why am I on /g/ again?
>>56936113
>it does not matter, nexus 4 is still more powerfull that majority of phones that are out there on market
Yeah ok you are seriously retarded
