had a HTC Desire 510 with 4.4.2 and grew tired of it

finally upgraded to 5.1.1 with Blu and got a slightly larger phone, 5in is as large as id ever get tho

also the gapps are noticably better and have more features that kitkat did not

Nah,5 inch is pretty small. I have some italian i-INN Smartlet Six phone (which I can't decide if it's a phone or a phablet) that is about 6 inch and it's big as fucking hell. Shame that not a lot of phones of its size use its chipset (MTK6572) and that the only available ROM is its stock 4.2.2.

The problem is probably that you embrace the bloat that manufacturers throw at you. Run AOSP and your device won't run out for a while.
