But you're retarded. Only the biggest games get ported over to Linux. 99% of the time a game is on linux it's because there was a conscious choice to develop for it later on.

If you're the 1% who develops for linux first and windows second you're retarded and the company deserves to go bankrupt.

In fact, if you can point out a game that was commercially successful that was developed for linux first I will send you 50$ USD on paypal. But you can't.

Winreducer. Identify what drivers you actually need, remove all others. Remove help files, logs, unneeded languages and their associated fonts. Remove all wallpapers. Remove extraneous services. Remove nonessental "apps". Compress winSXS. Use the built in compression tool. Apply filesystem compression everywhere (trying to check the box for the disk itself usually fails). Disable hyberfil and pagefile.
>>
>>56932030

Is that something i can download, install, and use? Or is it like you use it with the .iso before you install it or something?

I'm on their website and it looks confusing
>>
>>56932057
You use it to trim the ISO you install from.everything from compression onward is post install.
>>
>>56932030
So basically the equivalent of a linux minimal install.
>>

Windows doesn'T give you a choice

I see. Very nice tool. Will use when I back up everything and reinstall windows some time.

Have you heard of the 'tron' script? That seems pretty popular. It's post install though.

Looks like theres a bunch of shit not included in the free version. is it worth pirating the platinum edition? which version are you running
>>
>>56932100
Its a shitload beefier than a minimal install. more like standard install with a heavyhanded use of bleachbit and a custom kernel and/or ramdisk, with compression everywhere you can get away with it.
Debloat, rather than truly minimal.

For the live of god I cannot see why people like debian when it's like this.
You have to manually manager your package manager, adding new repositories every time you want something installed, for example.
Or curl a bash script from the internet and pipe to shell.

>have optimus laptop
>its either windows or linux with no vsync or just the intel card.
Tell me now that i fucked up by buying optimus, and i will agree, but the point still stands, you cant have a laptop with a new nvidia card and nice vsync on linux if you want. Bumblebee is shit too.
Still on my desktop even odlbian is fucking cool compared to windows.
>>
>>56930371
botnet 10 one my laptop takes 8gb on base install.

22gbs is probably installing tafter all the updates for wincuk 7
>>
>>56931160
>enter root name
pro tip: its root, and if you set a root password on the install its your fault for not having sudo. Stick with ubuntu next time.
>>
>>56934569
u should never buy laptops with optimus graphics anon.
Nvidia sells this defective POS just for the sake of 'battery life'
>>
>>56934607
Well you cannot get an nvidia card without optimus on a laptop , best thing you can get is a laptop with bios allowing to disable optimus and use only the nvidia card, but those are pricey. And if someone buys an laptop and then tries to stick linux in it , he probably wont know that. Not saying i care , actually i got much better fps in dota 2 / l4d2 / cs go on linux with prime-select nvidia (so no vsync at all) but its annoying as fuck and i can't imagine normies dealing with this shit.
>>
>>56934569
I don't think I've ever seen a Linux system work with vsync, except when I was playing games on like an M200 express, maybe
>>
>>56934689
Well, u can buy a Clevo/Sager laptop which allows most models to disable optimus from bios.
I'm actually looking forward to purchase one with an 1060.
>>
>>56934714
gnome 3, unity, cinnamon and kde 4+ (on some hardware) works ok.
I mean its not "perfect" but full screen videos/games and general desktop stuff is synchronized without lags, problems start when you run one content thats 60fps , another thats 24fps and/or place a static window that only updates when you move it / do something in it over all this.
For example glxgears and move a window over it , or mpv/vlc with anime or something playing. But still most DEs/WMs will really really slow down when you do that, those 4 do not.
Also on modern versions you wont get any glitches when scrolling or some shit like that.
So i can say its ok, but not perfect, most people i asked do not notice the imperfections.
Hopefully things will improve with wayland later, for now it is acceptable to me.

The other alternative is to use a meme OS like Loonix with now less than 2% marketshare.

Also are you that fucking poor to not be able to afford a ~$100 3TB HDD?

Uninstall all of the Windows 10 bloatware, and their shitty default programs, replace them with actual usable shit, and it won't use nearly as much. Windows is great if you want to actually use your computer for something other than shitposting and ricing.
