My old laptop died and I'm looking for something new. /g/ what are some decent sub $600 thin 13 inch laptops that I can get used? A 2013 macbook air seams like a decent choice but macs don't tend to have the best value. I don't really care about performance that much since my that what my desktop is for. Does anyone have any suggestions?

get a netbook
I should add that I'm prioritizing battery life over performance.
>>56987046
get the air with good specs.
for browsing and everything with internet they are the best. trackpad is incredible, but watch out: screen resolution is shit.
I use it with brightness on 100%, wlan and bluetooth and it easily lasts for 2 days of use.
I do: browsing, chatting, light programming, netflix and facetime

I have the Tri-X of this card and it's great.
Puts out a shit-ton of heat, but then it's getting colder now so that just makes it comfier.
That said it runs fine off a 600W power supply even at +75mV.

Confirmed for Yuropoor trash.
Lasik is technology.
Have you had it? Was it successful?
Any experiences here on /g/? Been thinking of doing it.
Looks like the lasik shills are back.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I'm curious too. What's the price range on this usually?
I always wanted it and was always broke but now I'm terrified of the permanent cloudiness if it goes wrong. Even if it's a 0.001% chance I think I would kill myself if it happened.

Soon the software industry will collapse and we'll be able to rebuild everything from scratch without bell labs dooming us to live in dark ages for the next 40 years, r-right?

Do you miss your old xp pc .
I'm too young to have had a Windows XP PC and I'm old enough to post on /g/. How does that make you feel?

>Not using your old Windows XP machine for Linux
>>56983521
I still have it. Put linux on it so my kids can fuck around with it.
I'm trying to make a config file for memepv.
Now why isn't this shit directory allowing me to create a new text or even a folder? I could do that on Windows easy, the OS doesn't restrict me.
and where the fuck is ~/.config/mpv/ folder? Why do freetards assume everyone knows what a "~" location means?
>>56983401
Linux makes things harder than they have to be. Any real professional uses windows or mac, because they just work without having to mess around with everything just to function.
>>56983401
a same as windows. b your home folder
Reminder that half of /g/ doesn't know what are these.
hi i did electronics 101

Yes. It's no longer the question of "if" 4chan will get shutdown, but "when"

>>56982724
retard, it has always been in the hands of ICANN. That's not the problem anon, the problem is that China has a part on this (multi corporation) and wants to censor the internet.

Fuck off shills. The front page explains why you should never use a browser like this and why you should never trust Eich. FOSS may help in risk assessment, but that doesn't save the end user, you need CommonSense CurrentYear Edition™ for that.

Literally the only reason why there is screen tearing on Linux is because of X11, why the FUCK aren't you using Wayland on Linux? You have NO excuse, also "muh X programs" XWayland runs X shit flawlessly and can even run an entire X server within Wayland flawlessly
Nvidia proprietary drivers will work as soon as the better memory management API is working.
The window managers all suck and Steam isn't going to work so I probably won't use it.
The fuck are you talking about? I use sway(wayland tiling wm) and there are still issues with gtk applications that need to be fixed. Not to mention redshift and conky do not work for shit
Until Gnome-wayland allows me to change my refresh rate, I'm not using it
fuck Gnome devs and their macbooks
Are 144hz monitors a meme? Is there a noticeable difference or is it just placebo?
Do you have to use DisplayPort for a refresh rate that high or can HDMI handle it. What about 120?
Go to a WalMart, Best Buy, Costco and see for yourself (they're on display).
>>56974965
I'd probably assume hdmi can handle it, but display port gas a better bandwidth threshold
