Do you miss your old xp pc .
I'm too young to have had a Windows XP PC and I'm old enough to post on /g/. How does that make you feel?
>>56983521
>Not using your old Windows XP machine for Linux
>>56983521
I still have it. Put linux on it so my kids can fuck around with it.
>XP PC
Fuck no
not really, luckily win7 feels comfy
>>56983630
Windows XP was huge until like 2014.
I commenced to install Windows XP on my IBM Thinkpad X60s. TFW things are comfy.
>>56983809
It still has a fair chunk of the market today, especially in developing countries.
>>56983521
Currently running Linux on a junked Dell that came with XP. No ragrets.
>>56983630
it leads me to believe you are/were a poorfag
the latest you could've been born to legally post is '98, and vista released late 06/early 07, so you would have been at least 8 years old at the time
>>56983521
yup.
My old compaq presario is collecting dust back home, what a beaut. 60gb hd got me through some good times. and good porn
by good I mean 100s of 1-3 min sample videos from when I was young teenager
never had an xp prebuilt, but i've run xp on many machines, so i'm not sure which machine i would pick when you say "your xp pc"
>>56983521
I had one of those
It was terrible, but it worked, installed Ubuntu on it for some time
>>56983521
Nope, but I'm still use my old ass windows xp prebuilt pc case, i just put a lot of fans so make it cool.
>>56983521
I miss it in the sense I miss the years when I had it. I do not miss the hardware very much, because in those years I was always far behind the curve in terms of what my PC could do. However, I believe I did learn a lot from trying to make the best of what I had.
I miss my old MAME cabinet that ran XP back in 2008. I miss my emulation machine I had hooked up to a big CRT in the living room of my apartment I had while I was in college. I miss playing games with my friends.
I'll be assisting in the building of a new emulation rig running XP soon. Some younger fellows have asked me for the help. The cycle goes on.
>>56983521
no and i still have it. just needs a new cpu fan
>>56983907
Or the complete opposite, he was a macfag.
I miss Windows ME and 2000.
>>56984194
No point in running XP and not a *buntu nowadays
I miss Win 95
>I never liked XP that much.
>>56983785
Enjoy it while you can m80 Microsoft as a hard on for 7s destruction. You 2 years left MAX.
i used my home brew shuttle xpc for like 8 years until the motherboard fried ;_;
the entire time it was loaded with a cracked version of XP sp2
I love XP. Miss playing flash games and downloading music on limewire for my wife's son. Those were good times.
I miss my 98 PC
>>56983521
every day
>>56985031
Specs?
>miss xp
no, i miss 2000
>>56983521
Wait, miss? I AM using XP right now.
Not really.
I had a few XP machines, with my last one taking me up to January 2011. The upgrade in hardware when I switched to my Windows 7 machine was so overwhelmingly awesome that I threw the XP machine in the dump.
Not really, it was cool back then but I'm glad technology is moving forward all the time
I do miss how easy it was to crack software and games though, nowadays everything is accessed through a service of some sort and you need an account for everything
I had one of these HP pavilion Pentium 3 bad boys.
Cost around $2200 new
I'm still using a PC that I originally had Windows XP on, now has Windows 10. Built in mid-2009.
>X58 ftw
>>56985031
>>56985303
I have a Dimension 3000 and a Pavilion XT938 in storage.
>>56985303
I had an ME machine with a very similar case I installed XP on to play Fate/Stay Night and Wanko to Kurasou YMK and all those other entry level VNs.
I miss high school. It was such a simple time for me. I just want to whack off to lolis and read VNs and not have to work or think anymore.
>>56985250
>P4 2.66 GHz
>512 MB RAM
>Radeon 9800
>120 GB HDD
>>56985688
Better than my 3000.
>>56983521
the only good XP systems I've ever owned are the ones I have now so not really
wish I still had some of the stuff I had in the '90s though
>>56983521
That's not a question.
>>56983521
My dad does. It looks exactly like the PC in your picture.
I still have a Pentium 350v2, I don't have anything to do with it though.
>>56983521
Miss? A machine very much like that one is now running Lubuntu splendidly.
>>56985031
A machine like this one was my main machine from 2003 and is now due an upgrade to Kubuntu if I can manage. It won't boot Kubuntu 16.04 for reasons unknown.
>>56983521
I threw an exact HP model like that in the bin the other day, it was a customers old phone system they hadn't used in years.
I tried it out, was a Intel Celeron with 256 mb of RAM and XP. I tried all browsers and non of them loaded websites correctly.
Is XP ded? I don't think more RAM would have made much of a difference.
>yes XP was fully up to date etc
>>56983521
I miss the loud clicks from my HDD
>>56984985
i just teard up a bit
I had the gray version of this case
>tfw playing bf 1942 modern combat all night
>tfw upgrading gpu to like a 270
>tfw battlefield 2 special forces came out
poor shuttle
>>56988416
Was it the still supported 2009 Windows XP?
>>56984987
7/10 subtle ending was unexpected and made me chuckle
Every fucking day, my first PC was an old Dell running Kubuntu (thanks dad) and within that year I got a hand me down from some relative and it was an XP machine. Many a vidya was played on that machine along with my first dabbling in scripting.
>>56983521
Yes i bricked it by trying to install win 7 on it way back in the day. Now i just use macs.
>>56983521
Not really. I mean, it was fantastic for its time. But once I started using Vista it felt a bit dated. Windows 7 just really drove this home for me.
And the aesthetics of OEM cases from that period were total shit.
>blue
>on beige
Garbage.
>>56983521
I missed Windows 98 until I found out just how SHIT pre-emptive multitasking is.
>system basically locks up when doing operations on floppy drive.
>>56983521
I still have an XP PC, use it daily.
>>56983521
Yes
I miss 2005 in general
XP is GOAT for weeb games
>installs perfectly in any VM
>Even has a seamless mode with virtualbox
>Never have to fuck around with any system stuff like you have to do in 7 and above
>codecs for weeb VN cut-scenes just werk
>Still compatible with 2016 releases
XP lives on always OP
Not really considering it was a Frankenstein's monster of relatives PCs, gutting whatever was useful. Was a happy chappy the day I had enough RAM to play games outside of a browser though.
>>56983521
I miss the case, I don't miss the computer.
Your pic is pretty related, it was an old HP Pavilion 6751.
