What's the deal with this website?

I remember back when it launched people were heralding it as the second coming of megaupload/christ, and no mention of any download limits, just cloud storage limits or whatever.
Now I'm trying to download a few files, totalling about 4 gigs. After a whopping 1.5gb it cuts the download and asks to either shell out 5 euros or fuck off for 6 hours.

This means I'd have to wait 12 hours to download my files with that limit imposed. 4 gigs total. That's insane.

What the fuck happened?

Is electrostatic discharge as much of a threat as they act like it is?

I'm taking a class on hardware right now and the way they talk about it would make you think you can't go within a foot of a motherboard without frying it if you aren't grounded to an ESD strap, standing on a static mat and naked. Has anybody here ever wrecked their PC from a static shock?

I'm pretty sure I'm still using ram sticks that went through the washer and dryer, they work fine. I usually build PC's on the carpet and they seem to be fine.

Still, I've walked around carpeted areas in fuzzy socks in the winter while carrying computer parts and loose ESD-sensitive components. Nothing bad has happened yet.

Yes and no. Older electronics? Fuck yes, it's like a ticking time bomb. Newer electronics? Not really, you don't wanna be shuffling your feet on a carpet then touch a PCB. As long as you are not retarded about you'll be fine. Always ground yourself out to the same potential as whatever you are working on.

I have a chuwi hi8 that does perfect for 1080p 10bit anime. I also use it for office work, for which it performs well when coupled with a bluetooth keyboard.

However, newer versions of the hi8 seem to be full of problems, including having their eMMC chips bricking, so I would NOT recommend one of those, but at least it gives you an idea of what specs to consider at a minimum for 10bit video.

I also remember someone mentioning that touchscreens are pretty terrible for VNs due to the way the game is rendered on screen or something like that, so you might want to check that out first.

I really only want a phone with an amazing camera and battery life. As for performance or screen, I really think that any flagship phone is good in these areas. I'm thinking maybe Google Pixel XL, but I'm not sure if there is exactly enough features with that phone to justify it over the V20, S7 Edge or even the iPhone 7

Why is this a thing in 2016? Is /g/ full of poorfags on Pentium 4s? My $160 Thinkpad can run Windows 10 with all the bells and whistles without an issue. Only slowdown is the HDD, which will happen regardless of the OS.
