>I use Linux because it's not bloated
Why is this a thing in 2016? Is /g/ full of poorfags on Pentium 4s? My $160 Thinkpad can run Windows 10 with all the bells and whistles without an issue. Only slowdown is the HDD, which will happen regardless of the OS.

>Two control panels
>Two file explorers

>Two kernels
LMAO windows turning pure trash to solid trash

Similarly, my body can withstand toothpicks jammed under my nails without an issue, but I prefer not to subject myself to the torture.

Why would you buy a bus when a motorcycle fulfills your needs?
The same with Linux.
>>57050167
It's just the issues of the switch period.
>>57050167
Jesus FUCK how many years has it been since they released 7 again?
>>57050199
If you wanted a motorcycle you'd install TempleOS
>>57050275
The new control panel is better arranged and doesn't have loads of infuriating choices that go the same place. It still doesn't let you do as much as the old one, it just has fuckhuge text.
>>57050295
That's more like a unicycle.
>>57050303
>Uses control.exe in category mode
What the fuck is this new windows xp non sense I want big icons in my control panel
>>57050403
I usually just browse it by the search box, or have my start menu configured to show it as a fly-out menu instead of a link.
Bloated doesn't mean slow honestly.
A bloated OS simply means an OS with a shit ton of "from-the-start programs" that come pre-installed. Linux (some distributions) do not have this.

A unicycle without the wheel
Some of the bloat is good for you anyway
Like RAM usage, news flash faggots, it's putting stuff in there so you can boot your favorite programs faster.
>>57050782
What's better, given that the system performs the same functions?
2 GB used by programs, 2 GB disk cache for faster program launch
512 MB used by programs, 3.5 GB disk cache
>>57051048
>4gb
>>57051058
Or any total RAM. My point still stands. A smaller but still fully functional system leaves more RAM available for your use or for caches to make programs load quicker.
>>57050275
>New since 7 is Privacy and Updates
Sounds about right.
>>57050072
i lik to custom tings
>>57050275
Most settings from the old control panel don't exist in the new settings app. It's fucking retarded.
>>57050213
It's been 4 years, how long is this 'switch period' gonna be?
>>57050167
It's almost sad how hard MS shat the bed by banking on the "folderless, integrated future of computing" a decade too early
Almost
Their ham-fisted attempts to undo the damage are downright pathetic however
Using Linux is a nice way to avoid running into the kinds of retards who start threads like this one.
People who use windows are closet gaymer fags. That or they are just retarded casual scum.
>>57050167
>one part 7
>one part 8
so it's also two OSes as well
