Pursue a different line of work.

>help desk
Hope you don't mean in a call centre environment. Did that for Blackboard for almost a year and it was fucking shit.
Get a LPI cert and hope to get on at some shit company as devops.
do one of those programming boot-camps. worked for me.
Have a good night and say thanks to the man that made /g/ possible.
Fucking hack
>>57165075
He's a cuck
That ain't Turing
>complains about bloat
>doesn't use haiku
Get it together, /g/.
Forget the shitposting, is it actually any good yet? Is it at least good enough for casual development and sshing into other systems?
>>57164974
It is actually really good. They have wireless now, which works perfectly on my T60.
What I'm actually excited about though is that they're porting it to ARM, which will be fucking amazing.
>>57165030
What's so exciting about that? For SBC use?
/g/ humor thread?
Yes.

hey thats my desktop :3
I'm trying to move a motherboard on one laptop to another, identicle laptop. I got down to this cord, does anyone know if you can safely remove this type of cord and plug it back in without breaking it? It's different from all the others connected to the motherboard in terms of looks and disconnection i guess.
I have no idea what im doing

>E3 videos show gameplay footage
>FUCKINGFUCK, WHYISTHISALLOWED, NOTFINALHARDWAREORSOFTWARE THEY SHOULDN'T SHOW US THIS SHIT IF IT'S NOT FINAL
>Nintendo Preview shows gameplay footage
OBVIOUSLY it's final production hardware and software and this is definitely going to happen for sure on the actual console. And it's DEFINITELY being rendered on what is probably an empty shell mockup and not just a post-processed video. Which is CLEARLY not whats going on in this shot where the camera is totally still at a completely awkward angle that would ordinarily result in reflections and very dim displays if it were an actual screen and not something added in Adobe Premiere for presentation's purpose.
In /v/, someone even pointed out that the sports title they featured was a year and some change old, and probably pulled from a WiiU or something.
And Bethesda also confirmed that Skyrim is not confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, which entirely means that they provided video/clips for the promo...

Now that consoles are x86 too, why aren't games written in assembly for ultimate maximum settings 60 fps 1080p on both desktop and console?
Think of the performance gains!
Apart from how it would take 100x as long, no reason.
>>57164490
Because 98% of people can't write faster assembly than a compiler and it will take them 50 times longer to do it.
>>57164490
>Now that consoles are x86 too, why aren't games written in assembly
For the same reasons they weren't written in assembly before they were x86? I mean, what the hell does the ISA have to do with it?
Why the fuck don't you American cunts like the bigger enter key? Why is one of the most important keys for you the same size as others?
>>57164360
Its not that I don't like the big enter key its the retarded midget shift key.
>>57164383
Ok that keyboard isn't the best example. I'm just fucking sick of keyboards I like not having a proper UK style enter key. I'd really like one of pic related to control a TV connected computer from my lap for instance, but they don't seem to make a British style one.
>>57164360
yours is bigger vertically, ours is bigger horizontally. I rather like the US layout since it means I don't have to reach as far over with my pinky to hit enter.
What >>57164383 said about lshift is also true.
The thing that pisses me off is that layouts from all countries continue to waste prime real estate on a literally useless key. I speak, of course, of caps lock. Anything else on that key would be an improvement.
so, im tryign to figure out how to use it. isdnt there a program that will let me decrypt files, i can only find programs that let me encrypt it only.
pic is kinda related.
what are you doing?
just use gnu pg to de/encrypt files
>>57164458
im trying to....unlokc the wikileaks insurance file.....if AES 256 is a 3 pass system, then in theroy...those 3 numbers that wikileaks posted have to be the 3 keys required to unlock the file.
im trying to test and see fi those are the "dead mands keys" i made a thread about it on /pol/ last night, and got shit on for it...i was encrypting instead of decrypting. i dont want to make that mistake again.
>>57164500
i don't think you have any clue what you're talking about
What is a current good ultrabook to buy? Are there any good in sight to be sold within the next months?
I mainly need it for development, and the occasational browsing, playing a weaker game and that kind of stuff I have a decent laptop at the moment, but I need something with battery life that I can take somewhere and do not need to plug into the wall for at least 6 hours (and not only under the best conditions). I'd like to dual boot win10 / ubuntu or some kind of Linux generally, optionally I could just run win10 and virtualize Linux.
I am kind of playing with the thought of getting a Lenovo T460s with an i7, 20 GB RAM and the 1 TB NVMe SSD.
I also read about the Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition coming up in a renewed model soon, not sure if that's worth it.
Any experiences to share?
>x1 carbon is shit
>xps 13 fell for the coilwhine meme
>spectre went normie
old thinkpads are probably the best
The T460s is good, but remember that the battery cannot be replaced
Dell are making some pretty good ultrabooks I hear
>>57164581
why is the x1 shit i was gonna buy one for 400
If you asked me when was the last time Chrome crashed on me, I'd tell you I couldn't remember.
If you asked me when was the last time Firefox crashed on me, I'd tell you five minutes ago.
If you asked me how many times Firefox crashed on me this year, I'd tell you that I lost count.
When was the last time u sucked a steamy cock
ive never seen firefox crash
Then why keep using firefox cuck

That CPU cooler is insane! My CPU temp is around 9°c on idle and 30-40°c at heavy load...
>>57164244
You need 32 GB of RAM because...?
>using laptops in public
>sitting next to someone in the train
>open up my laptop, trying to get some shit done
>train fellow leans towards me, staring into my screen
>didn't let him notice that i noticed him
>continued staring for the next 10 minutes
>i was able to hear his breath
>finished line and closed laptop
>fellow lost attention and went back to his spotify
do you actually care what people think around you?
for me it's irritating and i can't properly focus this way.
i just make use of that opportunity to be productive, rather than idling around waiting for the train to get me from a to b
