I was thinking the same thing, I love playing around in the bios and seeing whay my chip will push on stock voltage, but all i'm doing, playing around, it's not really a talent, I wouldn't even enter a contest like that, considering how the binning of a chip can be the difference between 1st place.

What does /g/ Recommend as the best free VPN for acquiring specific software under the radar?
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>

if the goal is "acquiring specific software" then you need to specify what that software is. that's why you say "specific software".

my hunch is that for a retard like you any old VPN will do.

yeah if you're torrenting you'll end up with malware also free vpns block P2P so can't be used for torrenting, pay for one

Anyone else amazed at how fast ARM is progressing? We went from c2d performance last year to now being able to perform as well as an xbox 360 with the igpu.

If you're going to rail on it for matching such old hardware in performance, don't forget that this is a 2w processors that goes inside smartphones.

Eh.

Where are your statistics?
>>
>>57169285
Yup
I own a Pentium 4 desktop and right now, my phone has more processing power than it. My phone isn't even the fastest one around, it's mid high end at best.

I am amazed by the progress ARM based chips have made in the past few years. But the big question still is, why aren't we using these ARM chips as ridiculously low power computers? I mean their performance is pretty good, plus they're power efficient, they would make the perfect low power desktop at home that gets used for browsing the internet once in a while or similar tasks. Wouldn't it make computers affordable for everyone in poor countries

Isn't that pretty much an SBC like rpi?

What I don't understand is why aren't there more powerful variants with SDA6xx or MTK helio processors.

Hi /g/ I was hoping you could help me.

Is there anything in the tech world that is equivalent to Starting Strength?

Starting Strenght is a *generally* accepted program that allows a complete novice to gain their bearings and have a general understanding+basis for the strength training world. It mostly skips all the bullshit and gives you a basis thats hard to completely discredit with detractors usually resorting to nitpicking.

Basically I'm looking for the programming equivalent of that. Can anyone help?

If its not specifically programming anythat will reasonably help me get a job will work. I have an interest specifically in programming but any qualifications or the like that I should look into in order to prove myself a useful member of society would be of use.

I'll be around for quite a while hoping some kind of discussion gets going so myself (and possibly others lurking) can get some no bullshit direction.

There isn't really a generally accepted way to get into programming. The best thing you can do is learn HTML and CSS, then Javascript and go from there.
>>
install gentoo

The Starting Strength of programming is SICP.

That really just means that they are overcharging you $10 a month. There is no such thing as a "free gift" it is a customer loyalty program. Buy 1 sandwiches for $8 a piece, sure, you got a free sandwitch, but you also dropped at least $80 on that place.

Apologies beforehand for not being very educated in computer stuff.

I had an Inspiron 660 given to me when my old laptop died. It has an AMD Radeon 6670 Graphics card in it. The computer recognizes it is connected to the computer, but I can't use it. I spent the past 4 hours googling shit and trying things, but nothing. I tried disabling the built in Intel(R) HD Graphics thing. I don't know what's wrong, and I'm not sure if it's just Windows 10 being trash or something else.

It's probably a driver inconvenience. You should try this:

(there's a space in the link)
The same thing happened with my FirePro M6100 when I upgraded to Win 10, the drivers god fucked up

Not getting any answers on /wsr/, halp

Getting some random ping spikes, only happens on this machine, works fine on ethernet but it's a laptop and I can't keep it plugged in.

Router is a Netgear Nighthawk R8000, wlan card is a broadcom device, asus laptop

Tried a bunch of stuff, not quite sure if the wlan card is going bad or if there's something else wrong

first of all— not you're personal tech support, you massive faggot.

if it's a hardware failure, you're fucked.

if not, try these steps

follow these steps and find where the latency (time) starts to increase dramaticallly

1.ping your loopback
2.ping your own ip address
3.ping your default gateway
4.then ping 8.8.8.8
5.then ping google.com

see where

>>57168853
oh any if you're biggest "ping spike" is 150ms, that's fucking nothing.

you wouldn't even have any issues with that latency in the most time-sensitive of data transfer like VoIP or video

Just pulled the trigger on this it comes saturday i hope its awesome
