>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>sneaky bastards will try to convince you into believing that cheating can be evaded, it can't and you will be banned with those bastards laughing at you

OP is curry AF. You're supposed to use photoshop not paint, pajeet.
Not like anybody cares about some old shit game tracker anyway. Nobody in their right mind would host a piracy site in the UK, nevermind using paypal... got cucked like they deserved.
What was the last time you've written a piece of software for your own convenience?
Hard mode: not a script
Hardest mode: not a script, and your software others found useful.
I couldn't say for sure but I expect it was some time situated between the hours of 9am & 5pm
>>57158628
What kind of software do you write then?
>>57158566
Hardest mode: A week ago. I'm making a timetable app for my school with a classmate of mine. We're still working on it, but we've been using it for months now and already started an early beta for some of our classmates.
I like to listen to music while I work, and want some small desktop speakers. I listen at low volumes so output isn't important, but I'd like them to look nice and not be junky.
Any suggestions?
Was thinking of these Audioengine A2s..

Post pricepoint
If not, I recommend beats by dre.

Around 250. Self powered, compact. I'd prefer to spend less.
Vanatoos are GOAT
So is gaming ever going to be a thing on Linux or should I just return to windows? I installed Ubuntu over a year ago because /g/ told me things will get better, but so far there's been 0 improvements on this front.
>>57158263
It is getting better, now that there is SteamOS. It will never be as good as Windows though, until marketshare improves dramatically.
Look at OSX: Several times bigger than Linux, but still tiny when compared to Windows. For games, I see roughly 3 times more games for Windows than for OSX on Steam.
>>57158263
Why not just grow up and stop playing video games?
>>57158505
I like playing games. Why don't you stop playing "mature" and realize that things ain't so black and white , grandpa
1. Write a program that shows the amount of 0's in a given range.
Example: 100 - 200 would be 22 0's

is this your assignment ?
>>57158176
Yes
Since there doesn't seem to be any bird threatening my existance I fail to see my motivation for writing it.

Welcome to /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Users of all levels are welcome to ask questions about GNU/Linux and share their experiences.
*** Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread. ***
Before asking for help, please check our list of resources[*].
If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

What are good "greyish" themes for XFCE that ain't fucking Greybird
>>57158258
There are no "Xfce" themes. There are GTK themes and Xfwm4 (Xfce's window manager) themes. You need to be specific which one you want.
Thou hast 0000000000000.1 seconds to explain why thou art not using PCLinuxOS as your main OS.

/Open Source/
I can not be the only schizod here.
When do you install something from git, are you afraid that it may have some backdoor or other shit implemented?
I know its opensource but I doubt that anyone read kk+ line of source code.
When you are using something like solarized or vim plugin or some other scripts from git opensource repos.
Are you afraid that there may be something malicious?
>>57158022
Git is not github
To answer your question, I read the source code of small projects I'm interested in and I "blindly" follows the install guideline for large projects so people w would have notice if something was off.
If you're paranoid, just Google "reflections on trusting trust" and admit you're powerless against big brother.
I get these concerns too. There's usually a big project that can handle what I'm trying to do, and i use that project most of the time. Other times, i'll either make or look for a bash script (e.g, my pomf.cat uploader)
>>57158410
>reflections on trusting trust
not op but thanks will read this to further my paranoia of continuously being watched and evaluated by AI
Oh shit, the internet is being attacked by sea animals
>>57157997
sharks are becoming a real nuisance lately. In the Atlantic they are ruining the beaches attacking people.
We need to get the coast guard or the Navy to cull them down a bit since there is obviously an over population problem.
>>57157997
That is the ANTI-BOTNET Shark of Freedom.
He did nothing wrong.
Thanks, Mr. Shark!
Netbook thread?
What do you use /g/? The last one I had was pic related, I loved it as an inbetween my phone and my macbook and I wasn't ever worried about it getting dinged up. What are my more modern options?
Does a X61t count as a netbook? I cant use a laptop below 12" without getting annoyed.
Its a nice device for watching shit in bed at least.
>>57157970
damn, it was sexy as fuck, 8" 1600x800 screen.
Too bad there were not good enough cpu when it was released.
would use/10
>>57157994
Right? Why was this market abandoned? I feel like it'd be the perfect inbetween with current technology.
Whats up /g/, I have this concern. I want to build a Sentry Turret, the one from the famous game series Portal. I just dont know the sensors I need to take, or which microcontroller to use. Can you give me a hand? If we can skip any Arduino related thing, better, and I dont care about the costs, I just want to know the ingredients to build one of these.
>>57157891
wait u want an actual sentry turret? with bullets and everything?????
why?????
>>57157916
yes
to protect my home
>>57157916
not necesary real guns, but some kind of airsoft guns (maybe in a future I put real guns, that would be funny)
