Yes, we know everything already is from China but in here we discuss the no/low-name cheap shit you see on Gearbest, AliExpress, eBay and similar sites.

Previous thread >>57161721
just bought this minidrone for 20 bucks.
hope it gets here soon
>>57172274
Looks rad, where'd you buy it?
I want to get a refund on Gearbest.
Should I file a dispute on their site or on my CC company?
If you were the government, would you allow people to use linux?
no only gnu/herd
>>57172261
Not only would I allow it, I'd make it mandatory in schools.
If children grow up with open source software they they'll be much more open minded with computers as adults.
Why do you still respond to this /ex-yu/fag who posts black chicks with retarded questions?
>when a popular repository merges your pull request
this thread looks promising
Im only comenting to get the notifications on my phone
What did you do OP?
>>57172297
Not much desu. Just changed "he" to "they" and it got merged. Now my github profile says I contributed to a big repo.
>think about purchasing an SSD
>one of the features listed is "time till death"
>have a WD black with zero back sectors after multiple power losses prior to buying a UPS
>Even thru a recent bout of a shitty Seasonic PSU that began dying
>cant justify paying $150 for a 500 EVO
>which is about the size i'd need to match my current WD black usage
>but its a 1TB
sorry but SSD's are still a meme
you only need a ssd for the operating system and main programs you use. yes using one for archiving is stupid.
>>57172246
>which is about the size I'd need to match my current WD black usage
Then just use an SSD for your OS and programs and keep the HDD for all your other work you dipshit
>>57172258
i have a cheap kinstong 300v 120gb and tried using the HDD as a main file storage, it was annoying as fuck
also the only time i ever see windows resource monitor showing the HDD causing any bottleneck during R/W is if i clear the cash with my AV or ccleaner and it has to recash everything, plsu i keep my desktop cluttered with all my questionable 1's and 0's and other sthi till its so packed i just copy and paste into another New Folder (4) and start over
im fairly certain the windows UI system bar and desktop crashing is because of that, but outside of those VERY infrequent instances, paying for a $150 SSD doesnt justify it
plus those EVO's are almost 3 years old now and theres NOTHING close in comparison? thats a joke
my WDBlack is even older than that and zero issues, i was SHOCKED to see zero sectors failed after all the issues I had over the last 5 years in shitty florida where power would go out daily cause of storms and i hadn't had my UPS's yet

How long till we gonna use drones for food delivery and such things? These things could track GPS coordinates from your phone and deliver food even when you are far from civilization.
Btw, im a farmer and i hate that i have to pack tons of food when im outside the whole day.
What is the limiting factor for todays drone tech?

Does it fixed the insta crashing in every HW accelerated browser and in every game?
do you leave the stickers on your tech?
I leave them on until I can no longer get a no quibbles refund
>>57171914
Usually, no. I kind of want to get some p3 and windows 98 OEM stickers for my thinkpads though for keks.
Not one OEM sticker has ever been put on straight so thats probably why i remove them
>>57171914
Those stickers is the main reason people think Windows laptops are ugly.
Some anon discovered us the truth about why Linux is not popular yet:
>The problem with Linux is that every developer has an opinion different from that of anybody else and they're ridiculously convicted that said opinion is the only correct opinion.
>This is why there are 9327835126 forks of everything and millions of man-hours wasted on at least 50 different projects that do the same damn exact thing. It's also why all of the little issues that make Linux unappealing as a consumer desktop never get fixed: the devs are too busy being religious assholes about some stupid, inscrutable little thing that nobody else gives a shit about to do quality UI/UX work.
>>57171770
nah that's a feature, not a bug. It means that if you don't like this program, there's probably two or three or eight others that do the same thing. Hate Unity? Use Gnome. Hate Gnome? Use KDE. Hate KDS? Use Xfce. etc.
The thing that prevents Linux from being popular is that most normies will use any pile of shit that's handed to them. They use what comes with the computer and that's it, they never seek to change it. And computers come with Windows, since Microsoft's OEM contract charges a fee per machine shipped whether it has an MS OS on it or not.
The software that has no alternatives tends to be most horrible shit.
Just look at crap like bluez.
>>57171770
How do we fix this, /g/ ?
How do we fix FOSS community?
Sample codes for simple keyloggers?
Thank you.

http://www.gsmarena.com/iphone_7_explodes_car_catches_fire_in_australia-news-21207.php
>left his phone under a bunch of clothes in his car while he went to take a surfing lesson. When he returned, he found his car filled with smoke, 7 News reports. The heated phone ignited and smoked the interior to a crisp.
HOLY SHIT APPLEL FINALLY DEAD AND FINISHED !!!
>samshit marketers viral iphone explosions
>>57171754
this only happens when fucking morons own electronics and horrible engineering, honestly i bet people who treat shit well will be fine with the new iphone 7 and s7 note. Unless the explosion meme is true then just get an se and a fucking s7 phone.
>>57171754
>The iPhone 7 was sitting under clothes, and in a car parked at the beach, it is totally possible that the heat building up in the car began to warm the phone up, speeding up the ignition process, and with plenty of fuel to burn, the poor surfer’s clothes.
Under clothes is way better than direct sunlight, the interior of the car isn't going to reach 50C or more and it doesn't say he was charging it so there's no reason why the phone should have been generating large amounts of heat on it's own.
Basically defective.
Dell Optiplex 380 Technical doc:
http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/optix/en/optiplex-380-tech-guide.pdf
Under "Processor" (page 10) it has a list of compatible processors for the Optiplex.
I'm thinking of perhaps getting a Xeon or a Core 2 Extreme for this old optiplex but looking up whether it will work or not only takes me to forum threads about people who have modded their BIOS to accept an LGA 771 version of the Xeon processor, not an LGA775 socketed one
So does anybody know if there's anything special I have to do about the BIOS before I pop in a processor that has the correct socket but isn't listed in the official specifications?
Check the BIOS if it contains has the necessary microcode.
You can find the CPUID of your Xeon on www.cpu-world.com
>>57171721
Sometimes you can patch the BIOS with new microcodes if they're not already there. I've done this Xeon business on a normal motherboard with an LGA771 Xeon, not sure how gimped the Dell ones are.
For LGA771 you need to modify the socket by *carefully* cutting out the plastic notches without bending the LGA pins, *and* you'll need a little jumper thingy on the bottom.
