ALL I ASK FROM ANDROID IS A DECENT FUCKING WEBM PLAYER THAT DOESN'T TAKE A HOUR TO LOAD THE WEBM'S IMAGE, THUS NEVER ACTUALLY PLAYING THE WEBM, CAN LOOP PLAYBACK, MAKE LOOPING A DEFAULT OPTION, DOESN'T DO THAT GREY SHIT VLC DOES, AND CAN PLAY ALL WEBMS I GET FROM THIS GOOKSITE AT NORMAL SPEED.

what are some of the best web development tools, langauges, frameworks, runtimes for the desktop environment.

I just came across Visual Studio Code. it is a open source text editor from MicroShaft. it is built entirely using open source web technologies meant for the desktop.

what do you guys think about this new direction? keep in mind that as more and more web techs are used for desktop env. these web techs will get faster and easier to use. heck in terms of ease of creating GUI they are obviously superior to what was on offer for the native desktop environment.

I am trying to look for the right combination of technologies that will allow me to build 3D animations and games using HTML5 and whatever else (JS, Dart).

I myself wish Dart was more popular than JS. what do you guys think about it? unfortunately, Dart still does not have good frameworks like Ruby or PHP for the server side work. and no browser will switch to dart on the client side.

on this tangent, what are good node.js frameworks for the server side. which is better for server side programming ?

PHP or Ruby or Node.js.

in terms of efficiency and ease of use (good frameworks). is Ruby on Rails the best framework out there ?

why are the languages for web so sloppy and loose (like sluts) compared to the desktop languages. on the bright side, they are easy (like sluts) to work with. why cant we have both in this fucking world. easy language which is also not sloppy and is very efficient like C++ in execution.

Also google is trying to make Dart the lang. for all platforms (mobile, web, desktop). wouldnt that be awesome ?

I just saw this video. Impressed by the so-called "artificial intelligence" that he apparently created himself, I thought it'd be a bot that actually adapts, learns and "thinks".
But looking at his website, it's literally just "pick one of these options" and then it prints you out a pre-made text with your info put in.
Anyone who knows a little bit of web-dev and knows just basic programming can do this shit.
I mean, it's cool that he did that there is a site for people to appeal their parking tickets so they don't have to look up the laws themselves, but - this is nothing special at all and everyone here on /g/ could do the same, if not way better.

Moore's law has been broken on desktop CPUs. It's hardly worth upgrading from a 2nd gen i5. Where are mobile CPUs at? I have a shitty iPhone with a cracked screen and want to upgrade to Android, but I want to wait until cell phone CPUs are have broken Moore's law like desktops.

Have cell phone CPUs broken Moore's law yet? When do you think is a good time to upgrade an old cell phone?

Now with firefox or chomium not open yet, open up an instance of either program.

Please report back wether the performance level of your GPU changes. (Provided you're using adaptive mode)

What WM are you using? X or wayland?

I'd appreciate the input.

Background is that my gpu somehow thinks it's necessary to increase the performance level to the maximum at times, without me really seeing a need for it. Results in loud fans and like 50 deg Celsius gpu temp in idle.

Why is there no monitor general?

I'm looking for a 144hz screen. Preferably under $350. I can't make up my mind? I heard good things from VG248QE and XL2411z but after more research I heard they have really ugly images and they seem to be old now. Maybe viewsonic xg2401?

Or should I wait some more until the new Samsung monitors release?
