Moore's law has been broken on desktop CPUs. It's hardly worth upgrading from a 2nd gen i5. Where are mobile CPUs at? I have a shitty iPhone with a cracked screen and want to upgrade to Android, but I want to wait until cell phone CPUs are have broken Moore's law like desktops.
Have cell phone CPUs broken Moore's law yet? When do you think is a good time to upgrade an old cell phone?

The Snapdragon 650 version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.

You should upgrade when it no longer serves your needs or there's damage and the cost can't be justified. The only reason I upgraded from my S3 was because it wasn't doing what I needed and I got my S5 free. Only reason I want to upgrade is because the camera is fucked and it will cost a lot to have it repaired and I can't do it myself because my hands are too fucked.

nothing has broken moores law. Stop saying they have.

fixed.
Moore law only work with the presence of healthy competition. When there's a monopoly it "dies".

It used to be that simple, but these days stuff doesn't break, it just gets progressively less able to handle the increasing bloat behind webpages and websites. My S3 lags during web browsing but it's not QUITE bad enough for me to upgrade, unless I knew I was upgrading to something that would last a while. I was nearly going to buy a Note 7 till they started blowing up.
