Maybe you wandered into TeX from a desktop thread and want your documents to be as pretty as your waifu, I dunno.

Maybe overleaf is more your speed.

Or lyx. I recommend people start either with texstudio or lyx.

Either way, zsh+vim+pdflatex (which I bet is what you've done to get all butt blasted) is really only simple if you know most of what environments you use and can get into the flow of all the nested {{{{{{{braces}}}}}}}.
