Is it best to avoid Smart TVs? I'm thinking of getting a 40" TLC Roku TV, but was wondering if there are better alternatives in the sub-$300 range.
>>58040804
If you already have a spare pc, there's no point to a smart TV.
>>58040911
I have a 15" laptop and chromecast, so I figured that might be the case. Any recommendations for regular TVs?
I don't think they still make TV's without the gimmick.
You should watch local content anyway.
If you are watching netflix, do you really care if samsung AND netflix knows your movie preferences?
Do you agree /g/ ?

Well, if I were also a Pajeet, I would at least consider it.
I'll start. Here's my macOS clone Linux box. I made it so my mom, a Mac user, would be comfortable using Linux.

Your photo is potato quality, but it looks like it might be a rivet..... If that's the case, you'll need to drill it out.

Go has great cross-platform support and produces statically linked binaries that don't depend on libc. It's the best thing since Pascal for us malware artisans.
Is this software worth using to learn about music production? I've watched a few videos and it seems to have a lot of useful features, but would I be wasting my time learning by using this?
I just want to make simple stuff, I have a real hard on for DOS era soundblaster card music.
>>58040329
learning to use any program helps, it is transferable knowledge.
>>58040373
That's what I was thinking but I don't want to learn bad habits. Going from gimp to photoshop was really painful for me, and I don't want a repeat of that.
>>58040329
I've used a lot of music studio software - Ableton, Reason, FL Studio. They are all better than LMMS. But LMMS is a really good way of startig off. It has all of the basic components of a music studio, and will give you some idea about whether you want to take things further without spending a lot of money.
Also because LMMS has fewer features, it forces you to come up with better musical ideas. So I would say give LMMS a go and see whether you are talented enough to justify spending the money on a professional studio program.
Hello, my wife wants a TV box so last week I bought a Roku Premiere + and found it severely lacking. Took it back and what I'm looking for is a box that works basically as an extension of the internet so that I can watch free shit especially from China. I've heard people talk about boxes where you basically type in what you want to watch and almost everything is available. Can anyone recommend a great TV box?
Fuck off its you and your dhcp revokations that fuck it up. Fix that .6 subnet you run. It's your problem.
