The port is the physical connection in the device. This is used by the data link layer.
Also the nework layer has ports, not the transpot layer.

Everytime I plug these into my PC I hear static and crackling in them. I tried plugging the computer into a different socket, rearranging the rooms wires and it still wont go away. My phones earphones dont have this problem when plugged in.
It's an ASUS all in one, any help?

I have the same headphones, and whenever I use them on Windows I can hear a faint static sound from them. On Linux they're totally silent unless I'm playing music though.
